Between this and Mac Barnett's Make Believe, I am going to have a TIME this spring.

I hoped when we moved to Bluesky that I'd stop seeing authors follow some bad social media playbook of "follow anyone with librarian in their title so they will feel obligated to buy your book."

And yet.

It's National Library Week. Please learn about different types of librarians.

This is a dance off. If you see this, repost with a dance or get eliminated.

I wish it was feral forest Muppet, but it's actually frazzled garden gnome.

"Development" implies some sort of net benefit to society. I've yet to see that with generative AI. The brute impact with which its been forced upon all of us, consent or no, has, for me, marred any potential benefits of other types of AI (machine learning, for example).

'Outlander' Author Diana Gabaldon Slams Shocking Season 8 Death: 'They Were Too Chicken to Do It Right' (Exclusive) Spoiler alert! The New York Times bestselling author breaks down the biggest moments from Episode 7 of Outlander’s final season.

I'm with what Diana Gabaldon said...if they couldn't stay true to the source material, let the print shop burn but let everyone live. (The headline takes her words out of context.)

William needs to get over himself but Charles Vandervaart plays him with the perfect blend of John Grey's honor & earnestness & Jamie's hotheaded foolishness. The actors are doing a fabulous job with some ridiculous material.

And when is the John Grey spinoff going to be announced? #Outlander (2/2)

*do

But to add, the whole Faith thing is absolutely ridiculous and annoying but damn, the actress playing Fanny is EXCELLENT. Lauren Lyle is incredible and underutilized (but that tracks; Marsali was underutilized in the books). #Outlander (1/2)

Me: OH, THANK GOODNESS, THEY DIDN'T.
Me [five seconds later]: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE OF THIS EPISODE

Note to self: Stop operating as if your collection development budget wasn't cut by 25% this year. Even though your supervisor talked to your director about more money, there isn't a definitive answer on it yet.

The #InfoLit standards are embedded within the SLS standards. Below is a link to pre-public comment version; they've likely been edited since.

Humans literally arent evolved—emotionally, mentally, psychologically—to deal with the volume of hate, vitriol & terror we see online daily. There is no precedent for the endless pings of global misery filling our brains at this scale.

Please unplug & take care of yourself as much as possible. ❤️‍🩹

The first book in any series is always checked out at all times at my library. If it's in, I check if it's a full moon or some other special celestial event.

I caved on intentionally using Canva's AI to try to create a map of North, Central, & South America because I couldn't find a map set. I adjusted my prompt ~20 times. It failed to give me what I wanted.

Good to know that AI's still completely useless to me. I won't be using it on purpose again.

I had vague knowledge that a space launch was happening today, but given, well, everything, it'd be nice to put just a bit more focus on what's happening on Earth.

Whatever.

(What an absolutely depressing thought; I normally adore space stuff.)
