That's why some of the actors left, too. All they were were their jobs. SVU has done a much better job of fleshing out the main characters, leading us to care about them and their personal lives, and willing to tune in even when the storylines lag on some of the episodes.

I didn't watch any of them when originally released, but I've been binging them for several months now. Started with the original and watched all the episodes through the first ending, then started SVU and am now on S19. The original had very little character development for the main characters.
