What I would do if I were in charge of Star Trek (non-joking version):
Solicit pitches from writers who have never worked on Star Trek, episodic format, no legacy characters, no explicit sequels/prequels/revisits. Pick the best pitch, hire a diverse cast/crew, let 'em make their show. That's it.
If someone were to hand-draw a character from as many angles as possible, would they then be able to run those drawings through a 3D scanner to get a model of their character? 🤔 I wonder how detailed they’d need to be to get something viable.
