And also one of our staff members “loves” (her words, not mine) this system and could probably help if you need it

Yep! I got one sent back today because the restaurant said we had 4 in our party and we had 5. The 5th person was 5 minutes late, so the tab was not updated. I had to write a set of comments on why I had listed 5 names. The amount of money saved is much less than the amount of money spent on time…

Same (Reed), carried it through grad school, and still feel the same. Most of the students I teach now get it, and I can often bring the more cynical (or preprofessional) around to get there, too… makes for more fun all around.

How did Tolkien write so much?

The answer is he didn't have two-factor authentication for every aspect of his life

Thinking of creating some snarky academic starter packs like:
Academics who think their ideas are WAY more important than they actually are
Academics who peaked a while ago
Academics whose questions are more like comments
Academics who always go over their allotted time

You Are Being Manipulated By Bad-Faith Pollsters Take a look at how things stand when the polls are un-fucked

I wrote about the coordinated right-wing campaign to manipulate voters into believing Trump is the favorite to win the presidency, and highlighted some trustworthy data that might make you feel slightly better about things.

I wonder if I know someone who might be interested in buying it? (Who's the dealer?)

Same! Going on Sundays--or very early Monday morning--ugh!! How about when a slide you really needed was misplaced? The worst.

I sent aerograms

I miss it, too (and being with you there, too). Slide room was a great place to catch up on all the news and gossip. I also took carousels with me to conferences and talks (and had slides get stuck because of failing labels).
