Cat hair causes that to happen to my laptop occasionally.
Not that you have a cat that ever causes you any concerns of course.

Good point. I'm old enough to mourn the pre-social-media Internet of chaos and to forget about the current monopoly.
Nice.
[Good to see it worked. Not a long term strategy perhaps.]
That picture is crying out for a caption competition. Or speech bubbles.

Today's odd little moment of University governance query was "how much academic data sovereignty do we have in a major Canadian university"
I have reached out to a colleague, but with the far reaches of the CLOUD act - I suspect very little. Most of our systems are delivered by US subsidiaries.
Bluesky bigger than I expected. Facebook too. Interesting data.
Squirrel riding invisible Tron bike:
A bottle labeled “Magnesium citrate”.
Another guessing game - what #mineral I found here?
And what I didn’t find in the bottle? But that is simple.

Makes you shudder.
DeCOFpose is an automatic #fragmentation tool for covalent organic #frameworks - whether you want to analyse, fragment, or reconstruct them! Great work with @chemwedding.bsky.social and @michelle-ernst.bsky.social pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
In this map @undertheraedar shows us the current UK centre of population.
Several ways to define the centre point:
BBOX centre = UK bounding box geometric centre
Land Centre = centre based only on UK land
Pop Centre = population weighted centre of the UK

We’ve had lots of fun messing about with non-thermal plasma for chemistry…like anything, it’s not magic, but high energy/low temp combo opens very interesting possibilities. Needs to be understood & controlled better via interdisciplinary collaboration! It’s got huge potential (pun intended 😅)
Come on, yew can both do better 😏
Almost elder abuse.
They seem confident that treewriter won't just produce a lot of pulp fiction.
Elements above 100? No.

Oh no. Go far enough and there's kilts.
I found them and reported them for impersonation. Hopefully they'll be gone soon!
How odd. And now I feel snubbed by your imposter who didn't message me! 😂

#ChemSky if you're considering which science conferences to attend this year, take a look at the Faraday Discussion series. Organised by @rsc.org, Faraday Discussions are unique scientific meetings where most of the meeting is devoted to discussion and debate. www.rsc.org/our-events/a...
It's new annual conference budget time! I've updated the public, filterable Chemistry Conference Database with hundreds of new conferences.
There are currently 564 conferences in the list.

Lauren Hatcher uses time-resolved crystallography to understand how photoactive molecules change structure when exposed to light.
This is very clever! Put a MOF particle on an AFM tip, dunk it in polymer solution, then see how sticky the tip now is - repeat and you can get a polymer uptake isotherm on a single particle. Love the idea.
It was very good! 👍
Congratulations Stefano!
The sentiment is mutual! 😁
It's the most wonderful time of year #MASC2025
Don't worry, we can pretend it's rubbish and cold and wet and you aren't missing anything 👍👍
