Cat hair causes that to happen to my laptop occasionally.

Not that you have a cat that ever causes you any concerns of course.

Good point. I'm old enough to mourn the pre-social-media Internet of chaos and to forget about the current monopoly.

Nice.
[Good to see it worked. Not a long term strategy perhaps.]

Today's odd little moment of University governance query was "how much academic data sovereignty do we have in a major Canadian university"

I have reached out to a colleague, but with the far reaches of the CLOUD act - I suspect very little. Most of our systems are delivered by US subsidiaries.

A bottle labeled “Magnesium citrate”.

A bottle labeled “Magnesium citrate”.

Another guessing game - what #mineral I found here?

And what I didn’t find in the bottle? But that is simple.

In this map @undertheraedar shows us the current UK centre of population.

Several ways to define the centre point:

BBOX centre = UK bounding box geometric centre
Land Centre = centre based only on UK land
Pop Centre = population weighted centre of the UK

We’ve had lots of fun messing about with non-thermal plasma for chemistry…like anything, it’s not magic, but high energy/low temp combo opens very interesting possibilities. Needs to be understood & controlled better via interdisciplinary collaboration! It’s got huge potential (pun intended 😅)

This is very clever! Put a MOF particle on an AFM tip, dunk it in polymer solution, then see how sticky the tip now is - repeat and you can get a polymer uptake isotherm on a single particle. Love the idea.
