Good morning Bluesky.
Say hello to our resident Orca, in front of the Seattle waterfront during a gorgeous PNW sunset. He was traveling with his family and T034s, T037/T037Bs. Those little ones in the pods are always the most playful ones. We love our whales. This photo should be a poster!
Life imitating art.
Having worked in the court system for almost 30 years & having some cases I was part of done on true crime shows/podcasts, the amount of stuff they just flat out get wrong or misunderstand in the process is insane. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as that stuff doesn't make such a compelling story
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.

so @cinderwing3d.bsky.social dropped some new hatchlings and this one felt PERFECT to add to our freebie rotation next week and oh my god, the cuteness. I'm dead.
Everything went so smoothly releasing Mo back in the yard today. One of the other strays, Bob, was out there waiting for her. She came back about 5 mins later to eat and has stayed around all day. Maybe there is still hope she'll become an indoor kitty.
Late #bunday entry
She's really been the easiest rescue, so far, even though she is feral. Only had the trap out there for 2 minutes before catching her & she went in & out of the crate without putting up a fight every time. And did so well staying in the bathroom recovering. So nice for things to be easy for once!

4-panel comic by War and Peas Panel 1: Two green alien astronauts at an archaeological dig on post-apocalyptic Earth. One alien says to a crowned alien that's just arriving, "Commander, we've discovered an artefact. The humans called it 'Internet'." Panel 2: The two aliens stand beside a wheeled computer console on the ruined Earth surface. The alien at the keyboard says, "We were able to reconstruct some of the data." Panel 3: The crowned alien watches a screen showing an orange cat batting at a ball of yarn. Panel 4: Close-up of the crowned alien crying green tears. The other alien says, "It's pretty much all like this." The crowned alien replies, "Beautiful."

Photo I took of these wonderful people (the faces of whom I’ve blacked out) singing happy Birthday to their lovely old dog at a bar I was at tonight in Portland
I was at a dog-friendly bar in NW Portland tonight and a table behind me started singing Happy Birthday and then I realized it wasn’t for a person but a really old dog who was wearing a crown and he was old and fucking adorable and I love this city
I was there for the rise of the internet and smart phones, and they absolutely sold themselves. People took one look and got excited. There was no point, years into the smart phone, where companies were having to be like "you may not like the iPhone but it's here to stay so get used to it"
in general, more things should have been punctuated by a beastie boys KICK IT
I use quotes to indicate my belief that this is a dishonest marketing term. I use a lower-case "i" to belittle the claim that it is "intelligent," because it is not. I use the periods to avoid attaching negative sentiment to the Alberts, Alfonsos, and Albertos of the world.
When you're 6'3", you and short ladies at the grocery store have an unspoken understanding. It's the social contract.
They weren't able to handle her so she was listed as feral, which means no charge for services today, so we doubled our regular donation. Pasado's Safe Haven has been amazing to work with these past 6 mos.
Mo did great today! She is doing well and staying in the crate in our bathroom for a couple of days. We agreed to keep her inside for at least 3 days, so they gave her a longer lasting pain injection than if she would go out in 24 hrs, which is typical for ferals.
Holy shit, yeah, that is how you do some Tom Waits-ing, thank you Massive Attack. youtu.be/L-57FrioeuE?...

I remember seeing you post about getting her on Tumblr and have followed your journey. Having lost an amazing dog of our own due to lymphoma my heart goes out to you.

We're debating about letting her stay in our garage for a few days to see if we can get her to trust us more before just releasing her to the yard, but if she's too stressed, we'll just have to let her go outside. 3/e
We weren't even sure if she was male or female until about 3 weeks ago because she doesn't trust us enough to let us see her backside. But we are now sure she is female. We trapped her yesterday and she is going in for spay surgery, shots, and an ear tip tomorrow. 2/

Meet Mo! our next project. We have been trying to get this little one since last summer when she showed up as a tiny little kitten. She will be a TnR because even after all this work she will not come near us or let us touch her, but that's ok! 1/
speaking from this very same experience, I haven't had to plant cherry tomatoes in at least 3 years because of the first time I bought the costco ones and ended up composting some that went bad before I used them up. Neverending cherry tomatoes!
