Same. Although I had one year where I travelled more, saw more places and people, and time felt different. That year felt long and dense, almost like childhood.

It hit me pretty hard. Especially having read his autobiographical writing and lately feeling very aware of time slipping away.

One of my favourite episodes! (The others are 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.)
The fact that Chris went and got someone with an actual phonograph to record a video for the YouTube version of an audio drama that doesn't even need visuals tells you something about the absurd amounts of energy and love we've put into this project.
Lately it's become fashionable (again) for warmongers to pretend to be Christian. But Christ taught a specific set of ethical principles which is pretty remarkable in how radical it is: love your enemies and do good for them. If they harm you, do not harm them in return.
I love the words Jonas wrote in these audio dramas. Gospels of the Flood still echoes in my mind five years later. Azathoth Blues is filling, like a meal. Sincerely constructed, thoughtful and rich with intent. They deserve your attention, and you deserve their wealth of ideas.
Every single thing you do makes a massive difference. We need to break out of the bubble, reach a wider audience. You can help make that happen more than anyone else. We don't have a publisher or institutional support, but we have you.
Do you know a YouTuber, critic, magazine, or deranged sewer-dwelling used furniture salesman who might be interested in it? Write them an email. Slip them a photocopy of a transcript drenched in snail goo. Whisper the website into their astral browser.
With the massive next episode of Azathoth Blues dropping tomorrow ("All The Best Cultists Have Daddy Issues"), here are things you can do to help:
- Rate the show on Spotify/Apple/etc.
- Review it
- Tell your friends about it
- Post in a relevant subreddit
- Like it on YouTube
That is very kind of you and highly appreciated. And luckily you're in for a really big one on Wednesday!
It's a struggle these days. I'm very glad people are enjoying the show. I just want to be able to make more of it.
There certainly are some audio dramas that do get coverage, but you're not wrong. And unfortunately being known in games doesn't help in other media, there is no respect for game writers.
Yeah, I know the audience will keep building, and the response has been wonderful. What's frustrating is how this no longer translates into spreading awareness. Everything is so isolated now. The death of Twitter and the decay of all the big websites is a huge factor.
True. I guess I expected that horror being so popular right now would at least give us an edge, given the people involved. Just to get the word out a little. But I guess not. We did try to hire a publicist, too, but got turned down by everyone. Even throwing money at the problem doesn't seem to work
This is definitely a factor. But we tried to throw money at the problem, hire a publicist, and just got turned down. Even horror sites seem uninterested, despite the credentials of everyone involved, despite other audio dramas getting attention occasionally.
I'm very happy with how Azathoth Blues is turning out, but I do wish I understood why it's so incredibly hard to get any attention for it. We really tried. At this point in my life I am getting a little discouraged.

Episode 7 is out. If you've been following the show, the title should tell you that shit is about to get real. If you haven't - why not check out a unique work of cosmic horror noir? There really isn't anything quite like it.

Perhaps not necessarily in the way you expect. The tapes aren't lying to you. "This is what happened."
Complicated to answer. "Pay attention" is important, but to whom is it addressed? The clues are there, but of course you'd have to listen to everything to fully understand them, or there would be no point in telling the story/creating the tapes. There is quite a lot out of place, though...
The 6th ep of AZATHOTH BLUES is ALIVE!

You can find the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Audible, and just about any other site or app that has podcasts. It is free and contains no ads.
Episode 6 of Azathoth Blues, The Anticipation of Grief, is now available in all the usual places. As we move into the second half of our first season, I can only repeat that independent art is hard to make and even harder to promote, and without your help we don't stand a chance.
The next episode of Azathoth Blues, The Anticipation of Grief, drops on Wednesday. In the meantime, if you've been enjoying the show, why not give us a rating on Spotify or a rating and review on Apple Podcasts? It all makes a difference.
