71052 Collectible Minifigures Series 29: Early Review It's been a couple of years since we have had a set of collectable minifigures to review here on the blog. In CMF series 29, we have have a set of 12 different minifigures. The LEGO Group sent a couple of sets over for early review. This is not themed like series 26 (Space) or 28 (costumes), or any of the licensed themes we have seen over the years. Instead, it's a mix of classic and crazy characters, some based on existing themes, and some that are just plain crazy.

New LEGO® Builder Virtual: new digital platform development accelerated to offset looming raw material crisis. Geopolitical instability in the Middle East is threatening the supply chain of the petrochemical precursors to Acetyle-Butyl-Styrene, the primary plastic used in the creation of LEGO® Bricks. With the potential shortage of physical bricks, the LEGO Group have fast-tracked the beta testing phase of their new digital building tool, LEGO Builder Virtual. An unladen oil tanker in more certain times “We were not anticipating this supply problem to become significant until 2035, which is why we had accelerated our approach to developing sustainable plastics in recent years. The current situation has caught us short, with crude oil deliveries already slowing around the world." up and coming digital luminary April Løjer explained from the LEGO Group's new Digital Hub in Copenhagen…

LEGO Ideas 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket: Hands-on Review I mentioned in the post announcing the upcoming release of LEGO IDEAS set 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket that this set represents a key factor in one of the earliest fandoms I was part of: I first read Destination Moon in January 1977, during the summer holidays. As the new school year began, I hunted the books down, eventually hunting most of them down through various school libraries over the following years. As I put the rocket together, I was excited by a sense of nostalgia as a childhood memory, now pop-culture icon, came into being on my desk.

Destination Home! Tinitin’s Iconic Moon Rocket Arrives, thanks to LEGO Ideas. It's January 1977 and 8 year old me is on holiday in New Zealand with my family and I am needing something to read. One day we are looking around in some local specialty stores (I seem to remember beeswax candles being bought at the time), and we take a detour to a book shop. I have never seen a tintin book before: More substantial than a 22 page comic - and with far more words than you might ever expect to see in tone too. I look over the shelves and one in particular catches my eye.

40921 Upscaled Blue Spaceman SpaceMan SPACEMAN!!! This is the fourth in the LEGO Scaled Up Minifigure series, and the first spaceman. Last year, I had the chance to put together the ultra-cute red Baby Spaceman, which had been available as a gift with purchase. This year, we have a blue spaceman. This may polarise some: he's playing it straight. It's not Benny with the broken chinstrap and idiot grin. It's a classic smiley. And it's blue. I mean, sure, its kind of acceptable: I was there in the beginning, when LEGO Spacemen were red or white.

LEGO® House Exclusive set for2026 has been revealed: “I ❤️ Billund” I'm not going to lie. I have probably enjoyed visiting Billund more than any other town in the world. When I first visited back in 2016, the LEGO house was in the process of moving from being a hole in the ground, and taking shape as a building in the centre of town. When I visited nearly 12 months later, it was well on the way to being prepared for its opening in September. With the LEGO house at its centre, the main campus, LEGOland park and the original Idea House all within a few hundred meters of each other, the time has come for the annual LEGO House exclusive set to celebrate the Town, highlighting different features and attractions that will appeal to many who make the trip to Billund each year.

LEGO® ICONS 11376 Model T Ford: A Classic Car, Over a Century in the Making More than 100 years ago when cars were an uncommon sight on roads, decades before Ole Kirk Kristiansen started making wooden toys, and long before the name LEGO was chosen, Henry Ford caused ripples in history with this car; the 11376 Model T Ford. Project Hail Mary: coming in March 2025 I love a good spaceship. I love LEGO Spaceships more. With the first manned Artemis ship set to fly to the moon any day now we are entering a new era of manned spaceflight, bound to spark imaginations around the world, looking outward with an enthusiasm unseen since the shuttle program. And in the background, sciece fiction continues to reach for the stars. Author Andy Weir includes enough plausible science in his work to make you feel that what you are reading isn't 'What?' so much as "When?" The Martian was a compelling story of Survival in a harsh, alien environment.

Happy 10th Birthday Rambling Brick! Hi Folks, just a quick post to acknowledge that this weekend, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our first post. What started as a whim one Saturday afternoon blew out over the following 10 years to over 1300 posts on WordPress (including this one), more than 2080 posts on Instagram, and an indeterminable number of posts on other platforms, which I just haven't got my head around. This journey would not have been possible without the support of our regular team members - Ann, the Knoller-In-Chief who lays out the elements in our reviews for your enjoyment and Branko, who joined me a couple of years ago when the number of sets coming by to review was outnumbering the number of hours in the day.

11503 Flower Wall: Provoking Creativity.[Review] Having used up all of my available bench space last year to display my Botanical sets - gaining respite only by packing them up during the course of some renovations. I'm sure they will come back someday. that said, to take stress of the benches, the LEGO Engagement team kindly sent over a copy of their Flower Wall to check out. Now the idea of a lattice with a collection of flowers designed to be attached on the wall is appealling. And the system is designed to be expandable by attaching multiple lattices together - and don't just decorate them with the included flowers, but also add in those from another set.

One Helmet to Rule them All: 11373 The Lord of the Rings: Sauron’s Helmet revealed. Things have been a little quiet on the Star Wars and Super Heros helmet cowl and bust collection lately. With 14 Star wars helmets released between 2020 and 2025; six marvel masks released between 2020 and 2025 and two Batman Cowls released in 2021, it has been a bit of a drip feed: a couple or year, with a small name plaque. These sets are the first LEGO Education sets to be marketed at the home market, rather than directly to schools. The box has been cunningly disguised to look like some sort of a board game, with most of the "LEGOness" hidden behind beautiful printed artwork depicting luscious retro-futuristic space-scapes and polar vistas, and a smattering of bricks tucked in for good measure. To say nothing of the Build-Solve-Invent Mantra tucked in the upper right-hand corner.
