In addition to writing horror, I am a 2x award winner for INDIE Book of the year in Humor, and I am a playwright.
Currently working on non-fic book #3 and horror collection #3.

Hello! I am Kimberly Davis Basso, I write horror that sneaks up on you. I am reading some non-fic this week and maybe some sci-fi as I’m still agog over Artemis II.

If you paid even a penny in federal income tax last year, you paid more than:
Tesla
Southwest
Disney
Live Nation
HP
United
PayPal
CVS Health
Palantir
Citigroup
PG&E
3M
That's right. They paid $0 in federal income tax.
It's time for big corporations to pay their fair share.
Candace Nola is incredible and the first to lend a helping hand when people need it. Now she needs us. Please give if you can, and please share far and wide.
Wednesdays we write. Today I’m polishing a short story and a poem for my next horror collection, and then I’m gonna crack my knuckles and edit a non fic chapter.
I’d like to promo my women writers editing special. 30% off until April 15 for scheduling anything this year. See link in bio! 🫶🏼
Thank you for the chat today and looking forward to new connections here ongoing and the next chat Appreciate everyone! 💛

Last year, Brazil's Petrobras began exploratory oil drilling off the Amazon coast, drawing concern from environmental groups and Indigenous communities.
I’ve had the Artemis II on all day in the background and let me tell you - listening to women as the voice of this to the public has been incredible incredible incredible.
my debut from @crookedlanebooks.bsky.social Amazon Kindle "deal of the month." Just $1.99. that's not a lot to spend to be freaked the f*ck out, i'm just saying... a.co/d/032lPmbr

Happy 🐣🐰 to those who celebrate! Re-boosting and I know times are tough all around; I've lost thousands due to workshop director's refusal to r3fund a residency that I needed to drop out of for m3dical reasons. If folks can share, that would be super, thank you: ko-fi.com/evaroslinwri... 🙏🏻✨

someone solved Cheeto fingers. Not gonna lie I’m considering it, but that possibility of stabbing myself in the eye is very real.

Background is purple lupine flowers and leaves Foreground is audiobook cover of The Wrong House, a woman’s face peering through a break in a fence. All dark green and shadows.
Happy Pub Day to The Wrong House by Zia Rayyan - love a good psychological thriller, and excited to read another new to me author. I really enjoy this kind of premise, when things start small but go horribly, horribly wrong.
Thanks librofm & Simon Maverick Audio for the ALC
Have you read Mexican Gothic?

I write a lot in spring, many many words. Currently polishing a story I am going to publish as an illustrated chap book (advice on chap book printing welcome) and drafting a non-horror book (I also write humor). After that it’s a new horror novel. Lots to edit this summer.

“whispering with too many mouths” is lovely.
The garden is not there to judge.
And thank you!
The book Nowhere Burning on a wooden table, with pink roses in a vase and a few petals on the table.
Do you read Catriona Ward? Last House on Needless Street was the first book of hers that I read, so now I am incapable of trusting anyone in her books ever, and I mean that in the best way.
Also, she’s one of those writers that makes me angry at how good she is.
By the third day of spring, the garden had started asking for names. “This is Thomas” she said, as she lowered him into the soil, “You may find him bitter.”
Q3 #horrorwriterschat
Yes! Insatiable.
Growth. The speed with which things change, from nothing to something, sometimes in moments. And the unfurling, stalks and leaves. It’s lovely and grotesque.
