there is still a large group of ppl being influenced – by the bible, by their family, by their preacher, by their friends – 2 b homophobic.

similarly, imposing monogamy (most denominations) prevented the spread of STD’s & inbreeding. but now, we don’t need blanket monogamy to prevent the spread of STD’s because we have condoms, medical tests, and treatments. & inbreeding is less of a problem because we are connected 2 more ppl than ever

pressuring ppl 2 b n a straight relationship is an unethical (and ineffective) solution 2 that problem,

the 2-child policy was also an unethical (yet effective) solution 2 china’s problem.

neither should’ve happened.

i think religions greatly influenced this. it’s important 2 examine any religions doctrine n the context it was created. at the birth of christianity, raising the birth rate was important, so ppl may have seen gay couples as ppl who don’t contribute 2 society. like the opposite of the 2-child policy
