sure I COULD be saving money in the event of getting replaced by underpaid subcontractors masquerading as shitty generative AI, but if I don't buy all these books then what will I do with my spare time

I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

Rob I think we are around the same age and you should have known from the first time around

But yeah it feels more idiosyncratic than Criterion, or Vinegar, or Arrow? Not a coherent "Good Taste" or "Bad Taste" collection?

Kino Lorber sales are much more dangerous to me than Criterion Collection sales because I will buy almost any movie on DVD or bluray for five-to-eight dollars.

We lived among the people.
I think you say, corner store.
We lived above it.
I mean it like it is... like it sounds.

“That’s kind of what I hear when I listen to Bruce or when I listen to Mk.gee—the rhythm of the words, how they pressure the melody, the friction between those two things."
