When I first showed this figure to colleagues, they were horrified. But I think it adequately shows how confusing the marine CO₂ removal (mCDR) landscape is, and this figure will eventually be the most important contribution of this paper. 🌊

Cretaceous echinoderm in the Glen Rose limestone in central Texas. How nice to spot this beautiful specimen just sticking out of an outcrop. It’s been buried in the dark for 100 million years and it’s still intact.
