The backstory was created with Koizumi. It's not just something Miyamoto came up with. Obviously it's going to stay

It's crazy people still want me to believe Miyamoto hates Rosalina because even if he DID, it's clear that didn't last.

He even said "what was I so hung up on?" back in this old interview with him and Iwata discussing her.

Mario fandom is 90% someone imagining a canon, tricking themselves into believing that canon exists, trying to find proof of that canon and then getting mad when that made up canon isn't followed.

Couple weeks ago one of the interviews with Miyamoto had him say he worked with Koizumi on Peach and Rosalina's relationship, which they had actual discussions of when developing Galaxy

I think this means Koizumi does have some ownership of his creation, so he WOULD be involved in the backstory too

It's incredibly depressing, seeing people just totally buy into an obvious lie and never checking the facts.

You can do everything right, and still lose some people. That's life.

The only things that have been confirmed to be entirely Miyamoto decisions for the Mario movies was Mario hating mushrooms in the first and putting Pikmin in Galaxy, otherwise he either approves or had to work with other members for pretty much every idea
