3 Birch loved making Stone Age bags in history lessons. They learned how to sew and weave as part of this unit.

Year 4 had a special visitor come in to speak to them about oral hygiene. This concluded their current theme!
5 Birch have been perfecting their skills in gymnastics using the climbing apparatus.
Year 2 kicked off our Great Fire of London theme with a visit from retired firefighter Ben of the Yorkshire Champions Group! 🚒
We learned how the 1666 fire spread, compared it to modern firefighting, and even used our bodies to demonstrate how fire breaks work!
This half term, the children will be listening to music from Disney films. The first week, we will be listening to Heigh Ho from Snow White. Snow White was the first full length animated feature film and it was released in 1937.

5 Birch have been hard at work finding out about key events during the Anglo-Saxon period.
This week, One Birch enjoyed using the class set of tablets to design and create a moving car. Some children have also completed the activity on Purple Mash at home.

Year 2 were making clay animals. They remembered to take the air out of clay before making an animal. They really enjoyed this.
3 Birch enjoyed creating their cave art as part of their art and history curricula. They learned how to use charcoal to create shapes and they loved it.
Year 2 had a fantastic afternoon making clay animals. We used a number of skills including pinching, scoring and using tools to add details. Don't they look great!

2 Cherry had soo much fun cutting and tasting fruit on world book day and making animal prints on clay. It was so much fun!
Monday saw our day of celebration. Here we have 2 children presenting their poems to the whole school. Children spent the day working on them to perform in front of their peers and parents.
A massive thank you to everyone who has sent in tinned goods to school today for our charitable collection.
