Chuck Norris is dead. He was really shitty but Conan playing this clip from Walker Texas Ranger lives rent free in my head forever tbh so there's that.

5) We played 5 or so times at the Sound of Music in SF & then embarked on a wildly (un)successful tour in spring '81 which took us to Waco, Ft Worth, New Haven, Northhampton, Boston, Providence, New York City, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Detroit. Surely someone out there witnessed the onstage magic?
4) (not including our friends who lived with us in Emeryville, who, in addition to seeing us multiple times in SF, were also forced to endure us taking over the living room in order to practice).
3) So, speaking of that record ... I'm curious if there is anyone out there who actually saw the original Fang duo play? Our shows were not wildly attended (to put it mildly), and I've yet to encounter anyone who admits to seeing one
2)So go ahead and pay the site a visit if you're curious. Most of the dubious projects I've been a part of over the years are available on my page, including my latest solo 7" as well as things like the Fang single from the original lineup.
Today is another Bandcamp Friday, the day when the greedy bandcamp fat-cats forego their fees and pass on more $$ to the right and honorable music makers (basically we get like an extra dollar or whatever).

This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥
Greetings from the graduating class of 1979
My solo 7"s are now ready and waiting to be welcomed into your dysfunctional family.
Dale "Melvins" Crover did some drums
Marcelle "Star Pimp" Poulos sang some songs
And all the while I kept a watchful eye out so that no one got hurt in the process.

Behold the Official Rock Video for "Balloons vs Grenades", the flip side of my upcoming 7". It'll be released on 9/5, but you can preorder it now (if you're that sort of obsessed weirdo) at bandcamp or midheaven or the other usual places.

Just drove through SF and all the billboards are like "Tired of your fleeps being florpped? Don't glomp it, get your AI rectified at Gloopper.com!"
It's bandcamp Friday, the very special day when sensitive artists (like ME!) get a bigger share of the dough. I have a page up now with pretty much all of my musical exploits down through the ages, so feel free to go wild.

The soccer moms, goth teenagers, and elderly hippies were out in force in sleepy Lafayette, CA letting the passers-by know what they think about fascists. Probably 1000+ people. Lots of honking cars and even some guy on the sidewalk wailing away on the bagpipes.
Just finished recording my single at Earhammer with Greg Wilkinson and special guest vocalist Elma Marcelle Poulos (from some band called Star Pimp).
Suboptics, this Sunday 4/13 at 924 Gilman. We write the songs that make the young girls cry. We write the songs, we write the songs.
Suboptics will be participating in a righteous heavy rock avalanche this Saturday 3/1 at thee Stork Club in Oakland. With ZigZags and Haardvark. Show starts at 8.
Minors are absolutely forbidden because the music will be too sonically crushing for any children to withstand.
Very excited to be recording my first ever solo single. With help from The King of the Drumb, Dr. Dale Crover. Engineering by the illustrious Toshi Kasai .
There seems to be a surge of people who don’t understand irony, sarcasm, satire, or parody, which is unfortunate because all I have other than those things is pity and disdain
Great show at Oaklands Stork Club last night. Here’s Antler Family featuring veteran Bay Area punks Mia Dean (Frightwig) and Tom Flynn (Fang, Melvins, Starpimp, Duh) the openers were Florists- another band to see again. Good times!
2) Wes Robinson, after we had made an outrageous rock star demand of a $50 (!) dollar guarantee to play the show, handing me a brand new crisp 50 dollar bill at the end, complete with a "fuck off and die" attitude.
1) Henry Rollins (doing his best Manson imitation) getting right in my face intensely staring me down while brandishing a billiard ball in his fist. (Long stupid story behind that charming interaction).
Fang, Eastern Front "Day on the Dirt" 1983, from Murray's book. My youthful face is just visible poking out of the background on stage. My main memories from that day are:
I'm up on most VU lore, but this 3+ hour (!) opus fills some holes I never knew. Actually covers a lot, it's 1 hour+ until he even mentions the band forming. From John Cage to Lamont Young to Andy Warhol to Yoko Ono to Dylan to finally the fateful Cale/Reed meeting. 500songs.com/podcast/epis...
