not even congress takes them seriously. the only ones that do are the statehooders and gullible liberals/leftist in the US

Hope you realize that all of those referendums are always non binding and used by the CONSERVATIVE Progressive Party (The pro statehood party) to justify them being in power.

Plus our current governor who is from the pro statehood party is also pro MAGA and a Zionist as well

Ah yes a referendum organized by the statehood party. Whose past referendums have long been discredited BY the UN special committee on decolonization.

Puerto Rico is not a part of the United States it's owned by the United States. This is why puerto ricans have statutory citizenship and not constitutional citizenship

Y'all want Puerto Rico to be a state but you don't know who the Statehooders are on the island.

Wild stuff.

And unlike a referendum where you can b******* your way to winning As status convention you actually have to lay out the policies beforehand. And the statehood camp has terrible policy

You referring to AOC's Puerto Rico self-determination act of 2021 it wasn't the republicans that's killed it was the puerto rican Resident commissioner From the statehood party. She squashed it because instead of it being a referendum it was gonna be a status convention

No you let them go which is what the UN has been telling the US to do since 1960 ever since resolution 1514 on Self determination was adopted

Puerto Rico Is Not for Sale The Esencia debate reminds that within the U.S. and its colonies, the debate over who has a voice--and who does not--remains unresolved.

I think Hawaii and Puerto Rico can be independent, Texas and Florida can be their own countries, the South can be its own country, the Midwest and Northeast can be a country, and the West divided into one or two countries. Maybe New England an be separate too.
The EU proves small countries can work.
