A dual-axis combination chart titled “Refereed papers with Gemini data and US participation” shows publication and citation statistics from 2017 to 2021. The primary vertical axis on the left represents the “Number of citations per year,” ranging from 0 to 9,100. Each year features a stacked bar chart representing total citations, with the colors indicating the breakdown: blue for refereed citations, red for non-refereed citations, and grey for total citations. The annual citation totals are displayed as numbers above or within each bar segment. The secondary vertical axis on the right represents the “Number of refereed papers per year,” ranging from 0 to 240. A teal line plot spans the years, showing the trend in annual paper production, with specific values labeled above key data points: 151 in 2017, 152 in 2018, 208 in 2019, 198 in 2020, and 89 in 2021.

Throwback post: Summary of refereed papers using Gemini data with US participation, from 2017 to today. More than 19,000 citations with an h-factor of 58. Very impressive numbers!

Big main character energy here from Gemini South. Sure, the telescope conducts world-class research and captures jaw-dropping images with its 8.1‑meter mirror… but honestly, it knows it’s photogenic too. #astronomy

Did you know you can access reduced GHOST 👻 data directly from the Gemini Archive? Just search for observations made with GHOST. The reduced files will be highlighted in yellow for both the red and blue channels and have the suffix _dragons.fits or _calibrated.fits.
