I was very fortunate to have flatmates around to do stuff with. But I feel like I spent the entire period in a state of nervous tension, fearing for my family I couldn't see, my job, the fact that my asthma got really bad around then and whether that was a symptom of something... bad times.

I have to edit as I go. Once tried not doing so and the finished draft was just so loaded with inconsistencies and problems about half of it was unusable. These days I go over initial chapters a lot to make sure they're a solid basis for everything to follow.

Been an extremely productive week. Almost 10,000 words written plus a bunch of revising (pays to have very little to do at work). After a few months of this project feeling really slow to come together I now know exactly where I'm going with it. #queerwriters
The thing I'm working on now was supposed to have a big proper war in it, but now it doesn't because I got bored with the military stuff.
I like a battle if it's our heroes up against impossible odds which they overcome by doing something clever and unexpected. I don't think I'd ever write realistic, opposing armies, nation against nation warfare except as a backdrop.
