Sorry, beach

Pint jar filled with blue dry beans.
A few years ago, through luck and vibes, I managed to produce this blue colored bean variety.
This was an early step in trying to answer the question, [paraphrased] "Why isn't blue as common as red in beans, even though they're both anthocyanins and the plant has the genes for both?"
Brilliant!
Thanks for having me and allowing me the opportunity to spread the word about plant mass spec imaging and the latest development from our #PlantMSI facility.
Colorful days in Copenhagen ๐๐บ
#WorldPetuniaDays x #PlantMSI
A bit belated, but no less happy: Two papers are out ๐ฅณ with results from #PlantMSI, my emerging facility for plant Mass Spectrometry Imaging!
From two awesome collabs came one on alkaloid biosynthesis in lupins (DOI: 10.1111/nph.20384) w Fernando Geu-Flores in NewPhyt & now this in Science ๐๐คฉ
Plant spec met'ers, it is our turn, start writing!
One more day now until the @plantcellatlas.bsky.social virtual Spatial Metabolomics Workshop. We are spreading out over multiple time zones, but it will still be hard to be awake for all of the great talks - but fret not, if you sign up you can watch the recorded talks later in your own time!
Looking much forward to this. Sign up for mine and other exciting talks on spatial metabolomics. P

I participated in a faculty panel a few weeks ago in which senior (ahem) faculty gave advice on careers in academia by pretending luck had very little to do with our success. One piece of advice riled me up, in which it was argued that a reason for their success was their ability to say no. 1/
