Hi! I haven't had this in my mind for very long, admittedly, but! Ever since I have it's become something I really want to do. If you aren't aware of the term, 'Snail Mail' refers to physically posting something: a letter, postcard, or anything else that a postal service would carry. These days, it's also used as a term for a subscription based mail where you can receive anything from stickers, art prints and bookmarks to facts about history, science and any other subject. What I want to create will not be a subscription because everyone who becomes a part of this would pay to post their mail themselves. I just really want to make that clear, as I'm not expecting people to pay me to be part of this and nor do I want it to be something where I post something to people and get nothing in return. The main reason this idea got so stuck in my head last week is because I really want to connect to more people myself and talk to friends more often, but then I realised that it would be a great way for more people in this community to connect with each other, not just me. So yes, it is selfish on my part to talk to more people, but I am also opening this up to anyone who is intrigued by this and would like to be part of this. My main plan for this is to be a monthly thing, where you would only have to send mail to someone once a month, but you can of course send them mail whenever you want! I don't want to put a restriction on how often, just have a baseline for where to start! And the mail you send someone can be anything: a letter just introducing yourself or talking about your day, you can send stickers you think they Il like, bracelets you've bought or made yourself, anything you want! The only limit to what you send is how much you're willing to pay. I am part of one snail mail club (although it has since been rebranded in the new year since there were so many people and it is truly the highlight of my month…. There’s way more information in the picture but I’m thinking of starting up a snail mail type thing! I will post a google form at 7pm bst today with questions and as a general interest check, but I’m so excited for this! I really hope this kicks off and people get as excited for this as I am 💖
