Stunning! 🙌

An acrylic mixed media painting of two women. One appears well and healthy the other seems she’s had a challenging life with scars and marks on her skin. Yellow ribbons flow in and around both women, connecting in places. Original Artist is Ginger Demmert, this painting is still a work in progress.

Here’s a painting on my easel, I’ve been working on for several months. This is an abstract realism of two very different women and opposing themes or forces.

A window in the Palace of Versailles invites sunlight into a great marbled hall & across an intricate wood floor, creating an almost-dizzying effect of pattern, textures & perspective.

35”x35” Wall hanging size collage quilt. Large image of the classic tomato pin cushion made from a variety of random red and burgundy fabrics. Small strawberry hanging to the left is similarly done. The tomato’s leaves are a mixture of green fabrics and centred with a real wooden decorative button.The frame around the pin cushion is an explosion of flowers, foliage, paisleys, abstract motifs, sewing notions, critters, tiny houses, of all shapes and sizes. There’s even ‘Woody’ from Toy Story peaking out from behind a blue leaf. Hidden little treasures throughout. The cacophony of motifs extends inward but thins out to the space directly around the pin cushion and directly onto it. The pin cushion shows 5 long pins sticking out from the top, each with an actual button as the ‘round’ top. Also, there’s a long sewing needle which has a red thread floating over the pins and passing through the eye of the needle.

A delightful exploration well outside my comfort zone.

A 9x12 acrylic self portrait painting. Day 18.

Landscape format in acrylics. Foreground: limestone karst in lilac and blue-grey, then long rough yellow-green grass before a dry stone wall which dips in middle showing full narrow white trunk of small tree leaning to the right and topped with scant green foliage with touches of red. Stones in walls are rendered in pale blue with dark blue shadows and crevices. They show a long narrow side facing viewer and mostly upright or tilted. Behind is wide areas of flat lilac-grey karst, likes fields of stone, with dry stone walls running across and some dark green bushes until along the horizon a strip of low blue-green hills with some darker trees and hedgerows smudged in. A larger long hill of lilac is behind that and on the right further away is the edge of a larger pale blue mountain. Sky is a very pale grey. Signed bottom left: Liam Daly

"Burren Tree" One of my earlier Burren paintings, it came out of a cycling visit to my favourite limestone karst region of Ireland. I do like the other parts of County Clare, but find the Burren's stone walls on fields of stone intoxicating. #SpeirGorm #ArtAdventCalendar
