I'm in here twice?? π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ

It's like...a bunch of grey circles and ovals making up a bigger oval on dark background. :D
Finally, I do have one more Paint masterpiece but I'm not going to tell you what it depicts. It is indeed a setting in the book although it's only mentioned. I also mentioned it in these threads. Idk if you can figure it out from my very bad sketch, but give me your guesses if you have them! :D
A sketch of the Ranch made in Paint. On dark blue starry background a brown asteroud with weird...things sticking out of it...like USB-A connectors, tbh. On the surface of it, little domes cover human habitats.
all the protected, weird little nooks in this universe? π
Gotta make a living somehow!
We go here with a side character rather than with one of the MCs and it's also a favourite scene of mine.
A drawing of a planet...or two planets in Paint. On starry background, we see a blue-brown planet, and then we see another, quite similar planet through what looks like a sharp divide, perhaps triangle-shaped, in the middle of empty space. Bright blue foggy stuff seeps out of the intersecting plane.
We go here for what I usually call the "beach episode" of Skylark: a bit of a breath before the next intense sequence, seeing some sights, getting to know each other, and experimenting with weird alien tech...
Oh, that's not usually part of beach episodes? Welp.
A sketch of the Foggy Cities done in Paint. A large, light blue, angular rift in space with fog coming out of it in the background. In front or inside it, a collection of irregular floating islands with plateaus or peaks, the suggestion of human-made structures on them. Starry background.
Do not doubt me, I have Artβ’οΈ for this too! Obviously, you would never see the place like this - when you get eyes on it, you're already deep in the lane and cannot sense normal space anymore. But hey.
Also, I called the Cities Torus at some point. I don't know why. I guess I just liked the word.
A rough sketch of the Skylark. On the upper deck, this Paint-based drawing shows the control room, the living quarters, the storage and a corridor, and on the lower deck, a huge cargo bay, airlock, the generator room and the position of the thrusters and proton cannon on the outside.
You probably didn't need this "blueprint" I made in Paint like 10 years ago and now hurriedly reworked so that it's slightly more presentable, but I'm going to make you look at it anyway.
The arrangement changed slightly since but you know. Vibes.
Time to get back to my rant-y Skylark threads. πππͺ
Gonna wing this even harder than usual, so stay focused!! π
We're talking: settings β¨πππͺπ°οΈποΈπ° today!

I yapped about spaceships, asteroids, planets, and Weird Space Objects in Skylark in the Fog today!
Come for the author's commentary, stay for the questionable Paint art! πππͺ

I read Pane ages ago (or it feels like that, time is fake) but I still think of it sometimes. What a trip! Read it!!
Hi, me again to beg for help π
Between the cost of moving, a couple new unexpected costs, and my usual $1200 a month in medications, PLUS the new medical bills from the hospital stay and costs of tests and new meds for the battle plan moving forward...
We're drowning. Sharing this helps too π
WHOOOF I finished my reviews before the winner announcement, yay!!
And finally, From These Dark Abodes by Lyndsie Manusos is a dark, twisted read that stole my heart, of partying, gruesome skeletons, love that bridges worlds, and the horrifying ordeal of being human/having a body that Does Things. #SFINCS #SFINCS3 #TheWIPs #BookSky

Yeah, this worked for me only because of the gimmick and because I assumed it wasn't gonna do anything very specific with the sci-fi backdrop. I enjoyed it for the melodrama but it's not a favourite. I didn't feel the condescension you mention but tbh I can see why some people would!

Check out libro.fm, you can support bookstores with it! And I think it has some indies. With the subscription I have I think I pay like 8Β£ a month and get a credit which I can spend on an audiobook. I'm still getting into audiobooks tbh, don't have much experience π

It's *so hard*. So so hard to make ourselves heard, seen. You're doing well, even though it may not feel like that. There's only so much we can influence unfortunately. We keep trying. π« Your story is so stinking good!!
Oooh, congratulations, that's such a big thing! Awesome achievement! π₯°
I keep reading the letter I'm so happy lol :D
