Be prepared for Caedin to play 8-10 minutes a game. Someone will have to spell Fru.
The team will also experiment with small-ball lineups, but I expect Caedin and Josh to split spot minutes.
Caedin is a good defender. There’s a defined role for him. Emphasis on defined.

Yeah, that’s the reality. The starting role would have been his next season (and beyond). But if he’s got the chance to be starter now, I get it. Best of luck to him.
If he got a bag, I don’t blame him. I have to believe that MU could match whatever he’s getting — if the program wants to.
I have to believe that MU has enough money to counter. But perhaps the amount is more than the program is willing to swallow.
I thought Sheek would play a different role than Minessale.
Regardless, this is a big loss. Potentially of Sam Hauser proportions. We’ll see.
He’s a dunking machine. And he hustles up the floor after a rebound or block. He’s always in aggressor mode.
I guess we all find out on Monday
Can I interest you in some Nolan Minessale highlights?

youtu.be/dz5DNOq0Lug?...
Over two season, Nolan shot a Kam Jones-like 61.2% on two pointers on HIGH volume (307 of 502).
Buckets for days
May Dec. 5 be the start of a revenge run over the Badgers.
I’m not shocked ISU was in the mix. TJ’s got a hold on the Wisconsin grown kids. #mubb
So Marquette announces a home-and-home yesterday with defending national champion Michigan — and it doesn’t register a blip on the #mubb thread.
It’s all portal, all the time.
Because if you don’t have chance to win the big games, what’s the point?
The Marquette fanbase is so … practical.
As soon as I saw clips of Caedin and Josh in the #mubb insta video on April 6, I knew they would be back. I think they are OK playing backup minutes. There will be minutes for them next season.
The question is: Marquette done portal shopping. I hope not.
Confirmed: MU signed Louisville’s Sananda Fru. We have a legit 5 — and one of best players in the portal.
We’ve done one better than DePaul.
As we should.
About time! Welcome to #MUBB, FRU!!
FINALLY a damn 5!
Things are looking up
Ben Steele confirms. See further below on the #mubb thread.
We have a big. A legit big.
I hope we’re not done portal shopping.
Marquette coordinated with the media. All good. Ben drops his tweet. Paint Touches drops its analysis — all around the same time.
I presume this is official?
No way Paint Touch is going to market based on speculation. #mubb
He shot 75.3% from the field last season.
That would be just what the doctor asked for.
Yeah, a lot of good players have moved off the market.
O-Max and TK were just ordinary players with promise when they joined MU. They didn’t look like NBA draft picks until much later.
NEW ON AE:
Believe it or not, we actually have some tidbits for Marquette MBB transfer portal recruiting to talk about.

Jeff Goodman (continued): “Where, to be honest, they could probably go in for $14 [million] if they want to. If he [Shaka] wanted to go all-in at Marquette, they got the money to be able to.”
Robbie Hummel: “… I know Marquette has the money…”
(end)

Jeff Goodman: “… Marquette didn't choose to do it last year at all. Will they choose to do it this year and how much? You know, Shaka could say, hey, I'm going to go in, but I'm going to go in for $8 million. …”

On the Goodman, Hummel & McCall Podcast (@TheFieldof68), there some interesting chatter about Big East portal spend, led by UConn and St. John’s, and how much money Marquette could spend this offseason (start at 49:47):

It’s Sha’s alma mater, but I would think he’d want off that merry-go-round. He’s a good coach. Imagine if he had real resources.
Creighton and Xavier have already landed big men: The Blue Jays signed Providence center Oswin Erhunmwunse, and the Musketeers got former LSU big man Mike Nwoko.
And then there’s this reporting from Jeff Goodman.
Spendy to say the least. #mubb
