How it feels just trying to survive Winter and realizing it's still January.

Today I saw a someone on the subway with this Nikon F5. I knew I had to chat with him and get a snap of what we were each carrying. I love that you can see a fellow photographer in the wild, a complete stranger, and most are so happy to chat about a shared passion. Love that for us.
I will do my best.
Every photograph is a memento of light that will never be quite the same, of fleeting moments and emotions. Of a piece of ourselves that will never live again but also never die.
I love seeing people fall in love with photography. The excitement and passion of our newer photographers is a vital part of the photo community.
When a photographer is a fan of a band or artist, I love when you can see that connection and that love in their photos. As a music photographer, being a fan is a super power.
Do you still have your first camera? What was it? This is mine, my Nikon FM3A. Ran a whole lot of Tri-X and HP5+ through this one. This is the camera that made me fall in love with photography.
A few favorites. My first camera, gifts from friends, and some souvenirs collected along the way.

As a set photographer, this is my nightmare.
Why am I like this?
Couldn’t be me… 🫣
Thanks so much my friend. Very happy to share the pit with you for some of these moments. ❤️
Really proud of the work made last year. From the Tonight Show to being part of festival teams to leading workshops, it was a good one. Here’s to a great 2025.
We need to start a gift exchange with photographers who have never been given a lens mug and all the photographers who have been given far too many lens mugs.
I love referring other creatives so much. It's a pride in community and a feeling of collaboration that takes so little effort for a huge return. One of the best feelings to connect talent with opportunity and see someone do an incredible job.
The Photographer's Spotify Wrapped just dropped:
The scale of feelings when your photo client responds to the final images:
Chase light and emotions. Seek out the fleeting moments that call to you. Make it beautiful more than perfect.
Some of the most successful and creative photographers I know aren’t technical shooters. Technique can help make your vision a reality. And some executions are highly technical. But technique alone is rarely the most important aspect of making images.
It’s an honor to photograph artists for the fans.
You belong here. No matter the gear, your experience or whether you’re shooting for Rolling Stone or for yourself. If we’re wearing the same pass, we are all equal.
#ConcertPhotography
Such a great photo.
Thank you for the kind words.
If you watch the performance on YouTube, this photo was taken at exactly the 1:21 mark, just as Jin is singing "running wild." This is little bit of serendipity. I hope that you can hear Jin's voice and those soaring notes in this image.

One of my favorite images from Jin on Fallon. One of my goals ever since starting as a concert photographer years ago is to try to make images that let the viewer feel like they were at the show. To even hear the music and to feel the emotion of the performance.
Nikon gang 😮💨
I guess it would depend on the pockets. Pants pockets? With the grip it wouldn't fit in my pockets. I did consider the Z30, which is quite small, but due to the grip, I wanted something even smaller. But the Z30 would be an excellent choice if you have pockets that will fit the size of the grip.
