kicking it off with a fight between Aeramis and their sister that inevitably goes missing? owie
and she’s still just as much of a menace 😈
no fansy promo & graphics, but if you're looking for your next read for indie april, why not try a book about queer vampires who are obsessed with each other & don't learn from their mistakes, and there's an arranged marriage pyramid scheme, bratty demons and a werewolf run cafe.

Hardcover artwork for Name Her Holy by Aubrey Ennis. The reverse cover features three arched panels. The center recites a prayer “The Seeker find me on the path, the stars take me in their arms, keep me as a lantern, so I might light the way.” The left panel has a pencil and watercolor sketch of Jude, who is looking down solemnly at a blank longsword. Her hair is in a long braid with a gold ribbon, she has a long scar over her nose. Flowers creep up her front. The right panel has a pencil and watercolor sketch of Kye. She is lifting her chin, face decorated with delicate draping jewelry in gold. She has short wavy hair is covered in light scars, is wearing a robe and holding a black flame in her hand. Stars and a black night swirl around the bottom of her portrait. The background is the same mirrored flowers as the front artwork.
I really need more hours in the day because the thought of doing an art book of the NHH universe/lore in this style is still haunting me
a still from The Simpsons with the subtitles “(chuckles) I’m in danger.”

Just a reminder to anyone seeing all the "(blank) is a sign of AI in writing", please remember that AI is trained off writers. AI uses em-dashes because WE use em-dashes. Dont go accusing people without better evidence, it can end careers/books that may have had absolutely no AI involvement at all.
Calling this one done so they stop tormenting me

Now, it felt like a gift undeserved. There was a lifetime to be lived in the small space at the nape of her neck, to be lost with only Kye's hands to guide her—blistered as they were, and Jude would trace the Elding seared into her palm, the moon sea, a pearl to fire's path. Broken letters, fragment of account that Jude could only wonder at. But in Kye's hand it felt like prophecy, like a fate she wished to tuck to her chest and hide away. She settled for her lips across the skin, for the stirring of Kye's breast and the hitch in her breath. For the smell of amber morning, of wildflower autumn honey, the late night of evergreen earth, the world that roused from her bare skin as Jude curled at her back under the heavy duvet.
My favorite kind of yearning is for the woman already laying next to you in bed.
(I had 15 minutes to write today and Jude made sure I spent it all on her)
I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
Drawing of pale hands on a black background, resting fingers on the wrist of the other hand, dragging blood on it. One arm has a sigil carved into it. The thumb and index finger on both hands are tattooed red. Text in the middle of the image reads "My blood is not my own"
🩸 my blood is not my own 🩸

this is legit why I'm not going to honor any conversations around good or bad queer rep: it's all bad to those who don't want us to exist
can’t help but point out the obvious overlap between the recent Discord ID shit and what just happened in Kansas with our Trans Siblings losing their IDs with no notice. this has always been the direction this shit was heading in. we are not reacting appropriately to what is unfolding.
Never heard of this law before right this second but holy fuck if it does not 100% check out
Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license.
They can't even escape this by moving to another state.
I wrote this comic 2 years ago. I was terrified when I wrote it but had hope it wouldn't come to pass and would be a reminder of how bad things got before we pulled back.
It not only has, it has gotten even worse. This is absolutely terrifying and will destroy lives if passed.
So I'm going to need people to scream about this like they've been screaming about KOSA and the SAVE Act.
Take it from me, the non-binary Floridian: YOU DON'T WANT THIS. YOU DON'T. YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR HOW MUCH THIS WILL DISRUPT YOU AND YOUR KIDS' LIVES.
There is no justification for this. It’s explicitly transphobic. It’s an excuse to bully and harass trans people while also making their lives way harder. They want to make being trans a crime. That’s it.
That and potentially disenfranchising trans voters before the midterms.
Can’t imagine why…
