Sec. Steve Simon is focused on what matters: high turnout and low drama.
Like his fellow Democratic Secretaries of State across the country, he’s making it clear: elections should be free, fair, safe, secure, and free from political interference.

🚨🚨🚨 The DOJ told a judge it wasn’t using sensitive voter data collected from states - then admitted it already was.
They’re already analyzing Americans’ personal information - with no transparency or accountability. This is a huge breach of privacy.
Sec. @tobiasread.bsky.social: "...[Trump] does not respect American voters or the Constitution."
The SAVE Act would make it harder for eligible Americans - especially in rural and Indigenous communities - to exercise their right to vote.
Every eligible voter deserves equal access to the ballot, no matter where they live.
There are 26 Secretary of State races this year - and election deniers are running in nearly all of them.
More than ever before, democracy is on the ballot- and Democratic Secretaries of State will be on the frontlines. Let's do this. #26in26

The SAVE Act would make voting difficult, time consuming, and even costly for millions of eligible American voters.
"The goal of conservative cuts and challenges, said @tobiasread.bsky.social, a Democrat and Oregon’s current secretary of state, 'is to put strain on the system, to add steps, to add inconvenience and holdups.'" ⤵️
Sec. Cisco Aguilar, DASS Chair, is right: Trump's executive order is a dangerous attempt to interfere in state-run elections and create confusion for voters.
Our elections are free, fair, safe, and secure.

Voters have a right to cast their ballots free from intimidation, but DHS has yet to confirm whether ICE will appear at polling places. Democratic Secretaries of State will keep demanding answers and protecting voters.
Sec. @adrianfontes.bsky.social is right: mail voting system is secure, convenient, and has been trusted for decades - by voters of all parties. It works.
Trump's attempts to undermine it aren’t about security - they’re about trying to pick his voters instead of earning their votes.
“When this came out, I immediately said, we are going to file suit. Nevada is going to lead that suit because it impacts Nevada more than any other state." - Sec. Cisco Aguilar, DASS Chair
Democracy works best when every eligible American can participate.
The federal government role in elections is retrospective - and certainly does not include intimidating voters.
"The biggest threat to democracy right now is dishonesty, misinformation, and disinformation. [...] And that’s dangerous because democracy depends on people having access to the truth." - California Sec. Shirley Weber, PhD
Sec. @adrianfontes.bsky.social blasts Trump’s latest election order as a "disgusting overreach."
Trump’s order ignores the Constitution and court rulings to interfere in how states run elections - all in an attempt to tilt the system and "pick his own voters."
Sec. Cisco Aguilar says Trump’s latest unconstitutional mail ballot executive order could drastically impact Nevada - forcing reliance on last-minute federal voter lists that are too rushed to ensure accuracy, burden local officials, and risk serious errors.
Oregon and other states are pushing back against Trump’s executive order trying to control who can vote by mail. Sec. @tobiasread.bsky.social says the plan is impractical, unnecessary, and a federal overreach - states already run elections freely, fairly, safely, and securely.
🚨🗳️ #ICYMI: Democracy defender Sec. @adrianfontes.bsky.social is suing Trump over his unlawful, unconstitutional executive order attacking vote-by-mail.
“The greatest threat to the safety and security of our elections is Donald Trump continuing to lie about them."
🚨 BREAKING: Trump’s own former adviser Chris Christie finally admitted what we’ve all known: Trump’s 2020 election lies were “make-believe.”
Trump put election officials in danger, undermined our democracy, and wasted time, energy, and money over a lie he didn’t even believe.
Sec. Cisco Aguilar: "Voters want consistent leadership. They want somebody to build confidence in the process, but to also know there is an adult in the room who's making sure the system works for every single eligible Nevadan."
Sec. @jenagriswold.bsky.social says Colorado will join legal action against Trump’s unconstitutional executive order targeting mail voting - and she’s ready to fight to have it struck down.
“...the sad thing about the world that we're living in right now is that we have a president who wants to discourage participation in elections unless people love him and want to vote for him.” - @vtsecretaryofstate.bsky.social Sarah Copeland Hanzas, DASS At-Large Member
🚨 Sec. @adrianfontes.bsky.social: "...this really looks like the president is trying to pick his own voters."
That’s not how our democracy works - and it’s a deeply disturbing line to cross.
Sec. Cisco Aguilar: The Constitution is clear - states administer elections, not one man in the White House.
This Easter, we’re thinking of all those celebrating - in faith and with family. 🐣🌷
May this day bring peace, reflection, and togetherness.
"The president’s attempt to prevent registered voters from receiving ballots is unconstitutional and unfair to voters... Elected officials should be doing everything to protect the constitutional rights of [WA] voters, not making it harder." - @stevehobbs.bsky.social
Sec. @tobiasread.bsky.social in response to Trump’s illegal executive order targeting vote-by-mail:
"My message to the President: We’ll see you in court.”
The Constitution is clear: states run elections, not the president. Congress hasn’t changed that.
Sec. @jenagriswold.bsky.social is standing alongside other Democratic Secretaries of State to protect our elections and defend the rule of law.
Trump's lies hurt the very Americans who run our democracy.
