Police didn’t need a warrant to search the exploding Tesla Cybertruck’s computer — can they search your Tesla data too? The average Tesla owner obviously isn’t blowing up their vehicle outside of a Trump hotel. So should they be worried about the police having power to conduct a warrantless search of their Tesla and…

Could police search the exploding Cybertruck outside of Trump Hotel without a warrant? How about your Tesla computer data? In this op-ed, I argue that the automobile exception permits warrantless searches of smart car computers and that we should be concerned. thehill.com/opinion/judi...

Court says “several” air fresheners, which suggests more than 2. That actually does seem suspicious….

Me to teenager: “You have to admit that your mom and I are pretty chill parents.”

Teenager: “I’m not unhappy with my draw.”

Me: “What is that supposed to mean?”

Teenager: “It could be worse.”

Hard to predict a sentence, but my guess is 44 years. Reason: In white-collar cases (e.g. pill mill docs), judges sometimes work backward from a defendant's age at release to make sure they don't die in prison. This results in sentences lasting until age 75ish. SBF is 31 years old. 75 - 31 = 44.

Is SBF going to get 110 years? No. Is the sentence going to be very long? Yes. Why? (1) The loss calculation under the Guidelines will be enormous and (2) SBF is very young. Younger defendants are less likely to be cut a break than older defendants.
