I understand the idea of not focusing on skin color, but as a Black woman, sometimes it is very relevant—especially when I’m giving another Black woman her flowers. It comes from a place of respect, not separation. Also,my identity isn’t something I need to ignore to make others comfortable.

I understand the cultural difference, but I’m Black myself, clearly, and this was appreciation.
