Procrastination ! I've a garden full of leaves that need dealing with. So what have I spent Saturday doing? That's right fooling around in #Lightwave3d working on Cel Shading. In my defense I was left unsupervised - my wife having gone to a football match today. #ScifiArt #Scifi

James Margerum already gave it a fantastic go in 2013 :)
I can only say je m'appelle and "c'est la vie" in an awful French imitation.
The next action-packed Commando set – Issues 5943-5946, on sale this week – represent four sci-fi war stories from the title's 1994 G-Tex Collection, originally published at a time when comics were (and, you might argue, still are) chasing the success of computer games...

The same scene, but across a wraparound paperback cover, with more of the scene visible, revealing a conical space station behind the astronauts.

Rest in peace, Len Deighton.
One of the very best.
Yes! One of my fav images taken by our Cassini cameras. I chose it for the cover of the 2017 Enceladus Special Issue of Astrobiology Journal.
It was published the same month that Cassini plunged into Saturn. A fitting end to a magnificent expedition.

View from a nearby arch close to the Mezquita. The Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Córdoba in the Spanish region of Andalusia. Started out as a Mosque but later reused as a Cathedral. But instead of demolition. They preserved the structure because of it's beauty.
Inside the Mezquita. Limestone and red brick.
From a local museum. I liked the colours of the steeple tiles. Not sure if the phone camera does it justice

"Where no man has gone before"
A Star Wars "B Wing" first seen in the movie Star Wars Return of the Jedi. Pictured against a blue background of stars and asteroids. A second ship is in tha background in the top right.
B-Wings (again, I make no apologies) I love these ships ever since they made their appearence in ROTJ. #Lightwave3d render of @howieeday.bsky.social 's model.
Ulysses Paxton stands with a hypodermic needle poised over Valla Dia, who lays unconscious on an operating table. Tubes run from her arm to a device hanging from the ceiling. A large chamber in the device is filled with blood. An emaciated old man lurks behind them, fixing his goggled stare on Ulysses. The Master Mind holds a long slender blade in his hand. Through an archway on the left, a four-armed white ape enters.
A fan recently posed the question: “Are the Barsoom novels [by Edgar Rice Burroughs] science fiction or are they really to all intents and purposes fantasy?”
Here are my thoughts on that in this week’s newsletter…
