Modern Rock Tracks ... No. 2s: The Breeders and "Cannonball" From Pixies and Throwing Muses to The Breeders, Kim Deal and company bring their eclectic, weirdly cool vibe into "Cannonball," arguably one of the best songs of the 1990s

I just wrote about Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box," a song written by this guy a little over 30 years ago. It topped the alternative charts at the same time as Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover," which is an interesting juxtaposition of chart-topping hits about love.
