Will say, if y’all don’t like the galaxy movie and want a proper quality story in the galaxy universe, you should very much read the galaxy 2 storybook in the switch port. Don’t have to buy it, just look it up. Incredibly good story, that’s id argue surpasses the original storybook.

In terms of my video game movie ranking, I’d say this movie is still lower than Sonic movie 2 but higher than Sonic movie 1, so same general position as the first, but still higher than the first movie even if I think some things like the character motivations and dynamic were better in the first.

I think this movie had much better pacing than the original, as they didn’t have any real montage of like a million things we don’t go to like the original, and overall in the first half it gives things a little more time to breathe. But I think the movie had its scope too low, like 75% of the movie is focused on very specific areas, but barely actually exploring the galaxy and galaxies itself, and even ones that are galaxy themed like honeyhive are very short. I do like what they do with the storybook, and the allegory of Rosalina and bowser both teaching stories to their “children” is nice. But the actual story of it I’m not a big fan of, like peach and Rosalina being long lost sisters feels pretty forced, feels like they just wanted to make them like Anna and Elsa, especially with their “power bond” thingy, not a fan. Plus like, that was basically the same way Mario and Luigi separated in the first movie, feels kinda uninspired. Rosalina also absolutely got shafted in this movie, like we have her being all super powerful in the beginning, just to make her a damsel in distress like that. They could’ve at least made the goop that covered her turn her into a wonder like form like bowser jr, but nah, just another cage. I will say though, I did like how the star festival was done, and the music especially elevates the feeling of it being a galaxy movie. But I think the lack of focus on the actual galaxy, and also too much of a comedy focus with the whole small bowser stuff dragged it down, it’s pretty poor compared to my ideal galaxy movie ideas. Like no universe reset? Cmon. But yeah, as a sequel to the Mario movie I liked it a lot, the moments where Luigi and yoshi tease Mario about loving peach were cute, even got a Mario’s teaching typing reference. I love how the relationship between bowser and bowser jr. was done, very cute, and the reference material in this movie was fantastic, shot out of my seat at the pikmin part and that starfox animation was beautiful.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie - 7/10
As a Mario galaxy movie, this was pretty poor, but as a Mario movie sequel, it was pretty fun. A lot of flaws, and I understand why critics didn’t like it, but I’d say it’s overall better than the first movie. More in depth spoiler thoughts in alt text.

I think nsmbu is the worst nsmb game, but I’ve always had a soft spot for 2. Like I think both ds and Luigi u are better, but 2’s still a very fun game, and it has very good replayability with the coin system. I think it’s better than 3d land honestly.

The crashes were largely fixed in an update a while ago, but it wasn’t applied to the gamebanana page and you had to download it separately. Instructions are in the image. There is a newer update they said is planned to release eventually, but for now this is it drive.google.com/file/d/1jeGg...

Will the game blow your mind? Probably not. Is it flawless? No. But for what it is, it’s a genuinely great platformer and it utilizes the 3d very nicely to add in the game design, rather than hinder it just for flashiness. Would definitely recommend playing for those willing to use virtual boy nso.

The 3D use in this game isn’t necessarily as flashy as other virtual boy games, but utilizing the 3d layers for enemies hitting you from the background, or going into it yourself very cool and definitely one of its kind considering when it released. The bosses utilize it best though, great boss.

Virtual Boy Wario Land - 8/10 Any%
Great game, with a lot of fun gimmicks and great level design. It definitely has moments where I get lost, or don’t know what to do, but overall they didn’t creep up too often to detract from the experience. Game also has some cool puzzles put in which can be fun.

What the frick is happening today, I feel like 20 amazing things happened. Like WONDER SWITCH 2 LOOKING PEAK AND HAVING GLOW PIKMIN, YOSHI AND THE MYSTERIOUS BOOK LOOKS REALLY COOL AND FINALLY GETTING A RELEASE DATE, THE CASEFILES WAS AMAZING, KLONOA ACTUALLY GETTING MERCH, LEGO MARIO MINIFIG, WHAT?

Looks way better than crafted world, love the yoshis story inspiration too.

Istg if they don’t do a pikmin 4 s2e now after THIS imma crashout, THEY’RE BY THE SAME TEAM PLEASE!
Oh yeah and trailer was great, combo badges and all the other new bellabell park info looks really cool. Elephant Rosalina is cursed.

I’ve been playing it for the first time cause I got it for $8 on sale when the s2e was announced, and yeah I absolutely do understand the hype. Great combat, exploration, platforming, gorgeous art, just a fantastic game from what I’ve played so far.

Crazy that a mid tier ps4 looking game is the best Pokemon can get, but it’s definitely an improvement. But like 2027 is insane. Nintendo needs a direct so badly, please give us a 3d Mario game for holiday…..

Red alarm is honestly pretty peak when you actually properly play it in 3d tbh.

Kirby 64 is fantastic, amazing mirror is pretty fun too if you got a squad, though maybe have a guide on standby so you don’t get too lost. Definitely a difference in Sakurai directed games, but some are closer to modern than others, so there’s still good jumping points.

It’s fullscreen too, so I’m wondering if this is M2’s Wii U vc emulator just without the dark filter.

Brothership in general is just so overhated just because the beginning drags out, and while yeah that’s the weakest part of the game, the overall game is still great, especially from the halfway point onwards. But yeah I agree, my favorite is probably slippenglide island, great chord progression.

The Sonic X dub theme ruined people's grasp on the games. They're not about blasting through first try but getting so good at a stage you know all the tricks and shortcuts to do that. The reward is honing your skills, not effective autopilot.
