I want to believe that, but unfortunately the paper has at least one similar paragraph in the results. So truly a poor review and editorial job was done on this one.
This begets a serious question though... The paper is retracted the authors (maybe) got a slap on the wrist, but what are the consequences for Scientific Reports and involved editors?
At least we know it wasn't written by GenAI?

Is it a fox? Is it a fawn? No! It's a teenage-mutant-ninja-deer!
This editorial is giving me the creeps:

AI generated figs with poor "author curation" and many with paragraphs of "apparent" substance, that when read carefully are completely superficial.
And if you don't really know what the Canadian public service does for you, here's some enlightment:

The undermining and slow destruction of public service has NOT worked elsewhere... Don't try it here, please.

Wait, no... Blue is negative. Then only those will get presents?
Am I interpreting correctly that southern-most populations will get no gifts from Santa this year.?
What about all the water streams you didn't help warm up? Fish are cold too!

🚨The #ResponseDiversityNetwork (RDN)'s first publication is out!
Response diversity still sails in muddy waters, with researchers disagreeing on definitions, applicable scales and how it relates to ecological stability. These and other findings will guide #RDN innitiatives and work.
Stay tuned!
Only a few more days to apply to join our committee! See below for details:
Maybe too late but try Ben Blonder? He's work on leaf trait spectrum -- not sure about biochem.
BES grant application is now open. Image shows a diver photographing a large whale shark underwater, with the British Ecological Society logo.
We are now accepting grant applications to fund ecological research and outreach worldwide.

Thank you. We need more (well-established) labs and people leading by example. In my case, I feel like I'm being pushed against a wall and if I don't use AI I'll be doomed to be less productive, less competitive, less etc etc etc.
