I always learn fascinating things at this conference. I had no idea there was a theoretical form of carbon harder than a diamond. In his #ISC25 address, Scott Atchley of Oak Ridge National Laboratory describes simulations on the Frontier supercomputer they hope will help to synthesize it. Cool!

Excellent post, Glenn, and I agree with you on almost all of it, right from the top, calling it "one of the strangest, over-the-top conferences." I'm not entirely sold on "4. Nvidia still cares about science." It felt to me like science applications were there for PR value, not the real focus.
