Fascinating stuff that I didn’t know the background of. Thanks!

I haven't had a long enough breath to talk about how AI is ruining the open web. API after API I used to use is closing - literally because paying the $$$ required to feed these impersonation machines is prohibitive.
I’d probably avoid Heathrow if possible, as they are catering to wealthy tourists and businesses types…
A notice board describing part of the Oxford canal.
Southern end of the Oxford canal.

First proper walk of the year… Oxford Canal.
Yup, I’ll chip in for that 😀
Should we check hourly for Proof-of-Life?
*Deep Pan* 😬
Yeah, I spent more time in the Pan Pizza Company on Upper St. than I should have…
I’d pay money to see you in action with this around Oxford! 😀
Quite. But also… 😉

Security people worried about AI generated 0days when they don't have MFA and have windows 2008 still around. Almost no one is getting hacked by unknown exploits - they are getting hacked by credential theft and unpatched machines.
That would be an ‘interesting’ development…
Daphne will have mixed feelings: she’ll miss you but not the cough!
It has quite a long tail, but hopefully you’ll be recovered enough for your hols.
I am, of course, morally obliged to post this sketch at this point. Don’t shoot the messenger: it’s the rules 😉

@safety.bsky.app Yes, this. Please at least offer the *option* of non-phishable MFA and passkeys. Thank-you.
Well indeed…
In general, I’ve never entirely bought into the argument that “if you are upsetting both ‘sides’ then you must be doing it right” — a more prosaic explanation is that “you are simply doing it wrong.”
FWIW, I wouldn’t really call Soho a red-light district anymore; not sure anywhere in central London is these days. Gentrification or whatever..
Enjoy your trip!
Oh, I’m not disagreeing with that: another example of the law of unintended consequences.
To some extent regulators were the cause: early iterations of NCAP required safety features which had to go somewhere, so cars got bigger to accommodate them. And batteries are still heavier then petrol 🙄
🙂
It’s a nasty one, isn’t it 😬. GWS.
Can anyone design us a “we’re not a US company” crest? 🤔 Extra credit for making it clear we’re Australian.
Troy Hunt suffering the same problem 🙄

Indeed. I’ve thought this for a long time, but it’s sad that it’s taken this turn of events to prove the point…
He didn’t do it intentionally but
Trump has finally managed to unite the right and left of US politics in condemnation of his illegal aggression and use of collective punishment (a war crime) as a coercive negotiating tactic.
Yup. A no-smoking area in a restaurant makes about as much sense as a no-peeing end in a swimming pool…
I can assure you that many people that I’ve encountered feel at liberty to use them interchangeably, even when I ask them not to… 🙄
