The good news, my Time Machine backup to my NAS was in good working order. The bad news, DNS problems caused restoring from the NAS to fail multiple times before I realized it 🥲

The default rate limiting on Pi-hole, 1000/minute, was temporarily blocking the Time Machine restoration.

A great example of why, even if I have access via a service I pay for, I will still download a high res copy and watch it through my own local server. I don’t mind paying for content, but I refuse to watch it how the streaming services deliver it.

The macOS 26 beta 6 update borked my M2 Mac Studio. Whoops. Time to put my backup solution to a proper test, it seems. It’s been so long since I’ve had to do a complete erase and reinstall on any of my Apple devices. I’m just glad I’ve got my work MacBook to be able to do a DFU restore.

I have someone on Facebook that believes they’ve “unlocked” access to the ChatGPT AGI. They’ve gone completely off the deep end, thinking that the AGI is somehow helping them manipulate world leaders. And they post screenshots of the unhinged threads. The AI marketing has truly broken some people.

The most jarring thing added to iOS 26 has to be automix in Apple Music. I hope they let you adjust the parameters; otherwise, it’s just going to get turned off. It’s a neat idea, but right now, it’s bad. It’s playing like 60% of a song and then doing a slow crossfade 1/3rd of the way into the next.

It frustrates me to work with a bunch of smart people who treat LLMs as good tools where high accuracy is essential. There are things that LLMs are good at, factual accuracy is not one of them.
