I don't care about the celebrity connection but this story highlights how our culture mimimizes impaired driving. This guy already had a DWI conviction before killing a kid with a 0.11 BAC...and just gets a misdemeanor charge. He should lose driving privileges for life!!

Even during the "ceasefire", the Israelis are still demolishing entire villages in southern Lebanon with armored bulldozers. In fact, civilian contractors hired by the army receive pay which is based on the number of buildings destroyed.
Schumer voted against blocking the sale of these bulldozers.

“When we think about e-bike crashes and deaths related to e-bikes, the vast majority are cars and trucks killing people on e-bikes as opposed to people on e-bikes injuring somebody else”

For an example: Say a store buys a doodad for $0.50 and sells it for $1.00, a 50% profit margin (common). Company makes a profit of $0.50 per sale. If doodad goes up in prices $0.10, 20%, the sale prices goes up $0.20, 20%. Their margin stays the same, but now they make an extra $0.10 per sale.
Huge profits are a consequence of rising prices, and a reason corporations might have driven some of these actions. War in Iran means gas prices go up, so grocery stores raise prices to protect their margins. But since they raise their price by percentage instead of by real cost, profit goes up.
Rising fuel and fertilizer costs are an active consequence of these foreign wars. Trump never should have attacked Iran. Farm worker shortages are a direct consequence of Trump's mass deportation agenda. Extreme weather is a consequence of global warming, which the GOP denies is even happening.
I mean, the US literally started a war in Iran. 20% of the world's oil supply spontaneously got cut off. Groceries need to be transported by trucks, which use a lot of gas, which now costs more. You can directly blame Donald Trump for the skyrocketing grocery prices.
On Wednesday, the IDF hit the same target four times to kill as many medics who’d rushed to the site to help as possible.
Extremely normal and fine for a company to put this in a public statement
Yooo! I had a bunch of these as a kid! I remember loving them. Palpatine's really stuck out to me, a lot of his voice lines from the movie were on that sound card, and are now seared into my memory.
Yooo! Which system?
Wait wait I havent told you about the best part! Disney just fired 1000 of their employees, mostly artists, and replaced them with AI that copies their art. What a time to be alive, fellas!
We should be learning from other countries...

Devastated to hear the entire Marvel Studios’s Visual Development team has been let go. This was my old home but more importantly, the home of so many incredible artists and peers.
Absolutely heartbreaking 😔
Sending all my impacted peers my love and support. Please reach out if you need anything!
I've attended middle school soccer games in rural Montana with higher turnout.
Turned on NBC. They talked about “President tipping a DoorDash driver $100”.
This woman participated in GOP ads before playing other roles. There is no DoorDash deliveries to the Oval Office. Please exercise proper judgement when consuming news.
To all those men asking why these women didn’t file police reports, I direct you to the Epstein files as an example. Despite police reports, in some cases depositions under oath and NO justice has been dispensed from a court of law. The women are re-traumatized and the men are free.
Oh, they've been quite eager to believe some women. Like Bondi and Maxwell, for instance.
I've literally been advocating for this for close to a decade. It's such a common sense solution.
In France, legislation came into effect recently for all car parks that have over 80 spaces to be covered with solar panels. Estimated to add around 11GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid. Why not do likewise in Scotland? Braehead, Silverburn, Glasgow Fort etc.
I am seeing jokes on how the Galactic Senate used the Space 25th Amendment on Chancellor Valorum in The Phantom Menace, and I hate to break it to you but parliamentary systems have Votes of No Confidence / snap elections as a mechanism. USA unfortunately does not.

Local TV leads its Iran coverage by saying the "deal" includes "reopening" the Strait of Hormuz, but then adds that Iran will manage the Strait and charge fees. So, the Strait is *less* accessible than before the war. Media outlets don't need to accept the administration's framing of this ceasefire.
One hopes images like this, when paired with the knowledge that everything we burn ends up in that tiny slice of gasses, would help contextualize why we need to move away from energy sources we set on fire.
One hopes. Climate communicators should make some hay of this.
