Our team were lucky to spend time with pupils at Dalton St Michael's, Skelmersdale chatting all things rivers ๐ŸŸ

The pupils shared what theyโ€™ve been learning in their lessons, and we connected that knowledge to their local rivers, so they can help to tackle some of the challenges we face today.

Thereโ€™s so much life in our rivers, but sometimes you have to look closely! ๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿœ

This invertebrate sample has been taken from Black Brook, where it meets the River Yarrow.

These creatures are vital for our ecosystem- feeding on algae, plants, and decaying matter, and providing a food source too!

Last week we said spring had sprungโ€ฆ

Were we technically correct?
โœ”๏ธ Yes.
Did we speak too soon?
โœ”๏ธ Also yes.

Yesterday our team were working at the very top of the catchment, north of Horton in Ribblesdale. They got a taste of springโ€ฆ followed by rain, hail and snow ๐ŸŒจ๏ธ
