This was the family that Norm Nation kept from being evicted (and you delivered). ICE had released their loved one.
Without actual action, a signed letter is pretty meaningless.

Someone was taken near 20th & Central tonight at 10 PM. Within 5 minutes, there were over 20 people on a call and even more people on foot in the area to respond.
Shocking that I responded tonight and didn’t see any of the former council presidents signing onto op-eds questioning Elliott’s leadership out there. I would’ve thought those impeccable leaders would’ve made it out to try and help their neighbors but I guess not.
I feel like a broken record. It would also be GREAT for a city's finances that are struggling. Homes on Milwaukee Ave are double the value of nearby homes. Instead of a new income tax, we could just pedestrianize a bunch of residential streets and make the taxes back from the value gains.
Technically, since it is trained on a whole bunch of humans data, it really is a whole bunch of humans making the decision, not just one. In that way, using ai actually is just the democrazation of war, everyone gets a say in the target.

This is a hugely important topic, but one would have to use a different measurement of partisanship in order to get better results.
Another issue, is that there is actually a decent amount of republican versus Democrat partisanship here (and elsewhere), it's just that Republicans lie about being republican, because if they didn't then they wouldn't win. This makes a huge measurement difficulty that makes results untrustworthy.
Take Minneapolis, here there is basically no partisanship between R vs D, because there is no R. BUT there is a TON of partisanship between young versus old people that does materially affect supply. We saw this with the 2040 plan lawsuit that directly halted supply and was very partisanship based.
This paper concludes that democrat vs republican partisanship does not affect housing supply at the local level. I feel like the big issue here though, is that at the city level, most partisanship does not come from R vs D, but is actually between young vs old.

I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

We talk a lot about Minneapolis having budget issues. Milwaukee Ave houses are roughly double the value of nearby non Milwaukee Ave houses. Pedestrianizing more streets would drastically increase Minneapolis budget. Even outside of making the city nicer, it's a good financial decision too.
