I’m way more psyched by the gorgeous sparkly cards with pretty illustrations than whether I can sell them. My sparkly Pikachu isn’t worth much but it’s my favorite!

I also saw reels on instagram of obsessive Pokemon adults trying to gatekeep thd hobby, like “you don’t have encyclopedic knowledge of every card series gtfo poser”. Yes it suck’s that there are scalpers but if people are just excited about the cards, be happy for them?

I got back into Pokemon cards and rediscovered pure autistic joy, though I’m yet to pull a single snorlax. People keep saying “what happened to this hobby?” I was there in the 90s selling my extra cards at a carboot sale, nearly all my customers were grown men trying to rip me off. It never changed!
