I scheduled my qualifying exams with the previous year’s predoctoral application deadline in mind. I got over a necessary hurdle in my program, but now there’s no fellowship RFA 🥲

Me to myself while I’m struggling to do gene ontology analysis

I passed my preliminary exams!! I’m now officially a PhD candidate! 🥳

I am also officially sleep deprived and over-caffeinated, but that’s not as important. ☕️

I can now focus totally on my research and (hopefully) will be a PhD soon. Assuming my nematodes and plants behave. 🌱

Back to the grad student grind 🫠

Thanks to #2025ISMPMI, I was able to travel to Germany (and Europe!) for the first time in my life 🙌

I will deeply miss the food, architecture, and overall relaxed atmosphere!

I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to attend #2025ISMPMI in beautiful Cologne! This is my first conference I have ever attended, and the first major presentation I have ever given. 🥔🪱🌱
