It's astounding to me how far people will go to avoid admitting they stuck something up their butt.

"I slipped in the shower and fell on a shampoo bottle."
"I was one of Spain's top bullfighters and got brutally gored."

Just one implausible lie after another!

Alright, I’m home now so here’s the Norm update. Yesterday at 4pm, I got a text from a family I’ve been helping who had a loved one abducted a couple of days after Renée Good’s murder. This was the family that Norm Nation kept from being evicted (and you delivered). ICE had released their loved one.

Every day seems to bring a new disgrace. We’re not going to have a single ally left after this.

This one hits home for me, because it’s so inescapable. I’ve done everything The Right People™️ are supposed to do, worked my ass off, produced millions in value, advanced understanding in multiple fields, and I’d be dead three times over if RFK had his way.

This is eugenics.

the edsbs charity bowl has now raised more money than the entire amount the sugar bowl foundation gave to charity last year ($435,600 on $74 million in net assets)

Grey background with top text, a picture of Miss Minutes (the yellow-orange anthropomorphic clock most notably from Loki), and bottom text. The top text reads "TV time: 3:30 PM Actual Kickoff: 3:45 PM" and the bottom text reads "accept no other time variances" because the organization Miss Minutes is associated with is the Time Variance Authority.

Since we've seen some questions about this weekend's match, here's the information:

It's a "3:30 pm" game, meaning actual kick off is 3:45 pm. Ignore any other times you see, they're old. 3:30 pm.

March to the match is happening, too, so keep an eye out for those details soon!

I once got a look at a sex survey sent out on a college campus. This is the basis of my never-disproven theory “If it’s a reasonably flat surface, people have probably had sex on it or at least tried.”

Hurricane Nana sounds like an oxymoron.

It’s so vague, it can be pretty much anything arm related. It can also just mean “imaging hasn’t happened yet.”

Most TJ cases will have an inflammatory component, but the IL reason of inflammation doesn’t necessarily mean anything is structurally wrong.

I’d say that’s the length and breadth of it, yep!

Some of the stat stuff isn’t their fault. The definition of things like assists (1 pass vs 2) or clearances (if a teammate picks the ball up, does that actually make it a pass?) vary by league and by data provider, but they don’t care enough to even think about those issues.

I have enough thoughts about this that I may blog it, but the TL;DR is that the lack of imagination among MLS leaders is killing the league.

They can’t imagine fans care about stats.

They can’t imagine readers value objectivity over pleasant lies.

They can’t imagine supporters… exist at all.

If Arsenal don’t get a foothold soon, City’s going to completely overrun them.

The players need to lock in, but Arteta may also need to intervene sooner than he’d like.

Forgot to set an alarm, but it turns out a small, shockingly well-read cactus yelling “NOW FOR WRATH, NOW FOR RUIN, AND THE RED DAWN!” does just fine.

Last leg. 8.5 hrs left.

Every function needs a Samwise Gamgee with a brace of coneys, I am adamant about this and always have been.

Sorry, I forgot to come back! We were talking about timing of next steps. She said she'd be out for a bit b/c she was doing a roadtrip in Ohio/KY/IN.

I said I was sorry, but that she HAD to get a tenderloin sandwich. She asked about Skyline, so I referred her to your extensive work on the subject 😁

FWIW, even as someone who is familiar Korematsu, did really well in American history, and even knows some of the high points of labor history (Triangle Shirtwaist, Blair Mountain, etc.) this wasn't on my radar.

Jeez, well, at least there's no major sporting event that is taking place in roughly six weeks that would require people to fly from Europe to the United States to attend.

That was one of the worst games I’ve ever suffered through, but a 3-0 run in California is a pretty sweet reward.

I’m gonna say this is probably the first time that James Rodríguez has played a match with a waterslide in view of the pitch #MNUFC

Again: for any big liberal donor who wants to funnel millions into fixing this country's politics, the ROI on buying any struggling paper and simply tasking it with doing real reporting on local news is vastly higher than the same $$ given to some group that does mass ad buys every election year.

Ringzzzzzzzz culture is one of the worst things about American sports.

There’s so much joy in great seasons, and obviously you want to go all the way, but pretending that’s the only thing that matters is dismal.

2019 MNUFC, 2006 Twins, and Aurora’s inaugural season all come to mind.
