sometimes the way you heal as a nation is to cauterize the fucking wound

This is basically why I stopped using Google search last year.
Just because a President announces he’s agreed to a two week ceasefire moments before he threatened to commit war crimes, does not mean he is suddenly fit to serve. #25thAmendment
Donald Trump must be removed from office for threatening war crimes and genocide.
Speaker Johnson: bring the House back into session.
Invoking the 25th Amendment and impeachment must be on the table, but Congress should also move on a War Powers resolution to stop Trump.
We didn't deserve this day.
Bsky still has major limitations on video uploads, no support for group messages, no features to prevent or remove unwanted followers short of the nuclear block (which they chastise people for using)…but it’s the “mean users” (apparently *unique* to this platform) that are an issue for retention.
Michigan has been a state since 1837. DHS has only existed since 2003. Not sure that backs up the claim Michigan (or any US state) actually needs DHS.
…Everyone who I bumped into was somebody passionate about the CRAFT of making games with a team of equally-passionate PEOPLE. It was heartwarming!
And that’s not to say there weren’t a sizable number of VC/Tech-Guys in blazers, trying to figure out their next grift, or that the abundance of sponsored AI-focused talks wasn’t super problematic, buuuttt…
I know a ton of people have (rightfully!) been voicing concerns about the abundance of AI garbage at GDC, but I thought my own experience there was kind of reaffirming.
The number of people loudly groaning about, rolling their eyes at, and making fun at the expense of AI was off the charts!
GDC's 2026 IGF winner calls out U.S. cruelty at home and abroad
Is a constitutional amendment just a mod?
DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."
But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."
"American innovation" now refers to making a kind of atrocity cronut by combining insider trading with war crimes.
If America still had the rule of law, this would be the easiest prosecution ever, but we all know absolutely nothing will happen.
“Stocks soar as company slashes workforce,” has gone from an annual headline, then gradually to a quarterly one…and now it’s a weekly — and sometime even daily — cadence of layoffs but “a strong economy”.
If anyone ever needed a clear example of why so many people are struggling financially despite ✌️The Economy✌️ doing well, look no further.
A distant selfie of me standing in nearly waist deep water of the middle of the Rio Grande River, with massive canyon walls on either side and clear blue sky overhead. This is Santa Elana Canyon, where the proposed border wall would begin. That would be a travesty. Besides, these canyon walls are their own, natural border wall.
A desert landscape in which the foreground is dotted with green shrubs and the background consists of mountains and two small peaks at the center. The sky is a warm yellow-orange due to the just-rising Sun. A large ocotillo cactus sticks up on the left side of the frame.
A photo of a desert landscape featuring rugged mountains under a cloudy sky just after sunrise. The foreground includes various desert plants with sunlight peeking behind a mountain peak, creating a warm glow and highlighting natural terrain textures.
A photo, taken at high elevation, of a mountainous landscape featuring layered ridges and peaks under a clear blue sky. Sunlight casts shadows highlighting rugged terrain and sparse vegetation, with distant mountains fading into a hazy horizon.
I've been to all 254 TX counties, and Big Bend is the very best of Texas. The stunning, expansive desert landscape still feels untouched. It deserves to stay that way. It breaks my heart thinking about it being needlessly ruined for a f***ing wall. Here's some photos I've taken there. 🧵4/4
in 1983, 90% of U.S. media was spread across 50 companies. in 2012, it's these six Comcast, Newscorp, Disney, Viacom, Time Warner, CBS
in 2012, it was six. now it's four.
genuinely delighted to see the games press taking on areas like prediction markets + gambling + gamification, which are tumorous outgrowths of game design & should be subject to rigorous, knowledgeable critique and *derision* within the games community
To create a durable affordability agenda, Democrats must embrace widespread anger at corporate power.
Abolish ICE. Abolish CBP. Abolish DHS.
Agencies designed to tear families apart and kill people.
Can we just call a Mulligan and start fresh? Like, what are we even doing?
According to a study by The Lancet, the US has been responsible for 38 million deaths since 1970 due to its illegal sanctions.
According to Brown University, the US has been responsible for 4.5 million direct & indirect deaths from post 9/11 wars.
Now, 10 million more could die from USAID cuts.
There is no reforming this.
Abolish ICE.
Abolish CBP.
Dismantle DHS.

If you were on the fence about reading Careless People (aka the expose on Facebook) by Sarah Wynn-Williams don’t be. This book is so much more explosive than what you’ve seen. The intersection of right wing extremism and Facebook is addressed directly. What a bunch of douchebags.
Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”
“ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”
yall missing the keystone reform
