MINNEAPOLIS UPDATE:

ICE presence is way down compared to the peak of the surge but they’re still out there. They’re still also engaging in what I think is their most loathsome tactic, lurking near schools.

Observers are still put in force. Heroes working day and night, even as ICE tactics evolve.

I was in DC recently. All around the train and metro stations were groups of ATF, FBI, DHS, DEA, etc doing absolutely nothing. Aside from the fascist dystopia of armed troops occupying our cities, this is also a complete waste of money. But at least they’re not shooting anyone, I guess. (Yet?)

Inflation/the pandemic makes the most sense of 2024. Globally we saw an anti-incumbent wave, and the obvious global phenomenon was COVID and post pandemic inflation. Combined with poll after poll of voters identifying economic issues as their chief concern, this seems fairly plausible.
