Teaching about various actors involved in US foreign policy this week and, tbh, "The Secretary of State was attending a wrestling event with the President while the VP & POTUS's son-in-law were in Pakistan negotiating with Iran last weekend" is gonna sound partisan but also true, I guess
Tfw your train is late but there is a brewery within walking distance of the station
Earlier tonight one of the Apple TV commentators referred to the Constellation in the Inner Harbor as a “pirate ship,” and I screamed
#Baltimore
Happy 410 Day to all the #Baltimore people out there!
Also, I am old enough to remember when 301 was the area code for all of Maryland AND when you didn't need to dial the area code to make a call...
As a prof teaching American Foreign Policy as a new prep for the first time this semester (what a time!), just gonna say that I really appreciate this research
This was published a few weeks ago, but ICYMI, I have a chapter on Qualitative Methods, co-authored with Kristen Monroe of UCI, in the new OPEN ACCESS @elgarpublishing.bsky.social volume on "Teaching Human Rights"

First official act as a tenured professor (got the OFFICIAL letter yesterday) is...
Selecting sandwich options for an honors society luncheon
Putting that PhD to good use lol
(To be clear, not complaining, it is nice when my job doesn't involve thinking about mass atrocities)
Repeating that the Democratic Project 2029 should absolutely include an Article 12(3) declaration to the ICC covering the period of the Trump administration
Just walked out of teaching American Foreign Policy...
Hegemonic self own
The world is on fire, but there is also this…

Indiscriminately hitting like on ALL of the #Orioles posts on here
#OpeningDay
Persuaded by my quick trip to ISA, which has involved reconnecting with colleagues, co-authors, and friends --- many of whom I initially met via the old Twitter --- to be more active on here again, so you can expect LOTS of forthcoming hot takes (or at least links to new papers and things like that)
Teaching USFP as a new prep this semester, and well, at least there is always something new to discuss…
Maybe it’s fitting that I found out when I opened my email to find the QR code to get my ISA badge today, but I am SUPER EXCITED and grateful and humbled and maybe even kinda surprised to share that I got tenure!!!
It's been a minute since I posted (for lots of reasons), but I'm in transit to #ISA2026 for a quick trip (shorter than planned, for other reasons, but I'll be there today and tomorrow) and hope to reconnect with some of y'all if you're around
Would definitely be at the Margaritaville (I assume that's still there, it's been a few years since I've been...)
I always bring this up whenever anyone says gender isn’t important to understanding politics
I mean, I kinda don't believe it, but I guess if other people do, I'm not gonna say no lol
I literally have one still
I was at the Delmon Young game, which I suppose should count for something lol
I was at that game, my dad made us leave early because it was a school night (or something like that), and I very distinctly remember listening to that call on the Beltway around the Route 40 exit near Catonsville
I have a BRAD PENNINGTON vintage 1994 jersey
Submariner, which I always thought was so cool!
1) I was at the game the night they filmed the "Dave" scene, probably 8 or 9 years old, I remember it vividly
2) I remember meeting Tackett at an O's clinic at Towson State (at it was then called), and he was a pretty cool/fun guy
