Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

I’m a Green Party councillor for City Ward #Sheffield. It’s a densely populated urban ward.
I’m going to talk about digital advertising screens, which doesn’t sound exciting, but please bear with me.
I want to explain why I spend time objecting to so many of these.

Sheffield already has 926 digital advertising sites (billboards, bus shelter ads, free-standing screens).
They look awful, but worse, they clutter up pavement space, getting in the way of pedestrians, mobility scooters, pushchairs…
€81.4 million a day. That’s what oil companies in EU are making from rising fuel prices since the start of the war on Iran.
As the war disrupts global oil supply, prices surge. You pay more for food and transport while oil companies make even higher profits.
This isn't a crisis for everyone. Tax profits tax polluters. Tax the super rich. Make them pay their fair share.

The world has reached a key milestone: 10% of the ocean is now within protected & conserved areas.
This is vital for people & wildlife, helping to halt biodiversity loss and sustain communities.
But much more is needed. By 2030, the goal is 30%.

Perhaps it’s been everywhere, but I had not heard the phrase ‘the caring majority’ used before, and it captures something profoundly important. It is a concept that can ground a genuinely new kind of politics.
Reform says it stands up for workers. Their record says differently. When parliament voted on stronger employment rights, Reform MPs voted against measures like banning zero-hours contracts and improving sick pay.
