Shuttered industrial unit with an unprofessional looking Greggs Outlet hoarding. It's situated in a grim looking shopping precinct under a grey sky.

I'm sure you live in a great area, but do you have a #Greggs Outlet?

@herring1967.bsky.social This week's instalment of the Craven Newsround podcast helped me realise something. The, shall we say, genius of it: it's a very high risk experiment and it's never entirely clear whether or not you are having a nervous breakdown. This is meant as a compliment.

Alternative #GrandNational sweepstake proposal. Everyone picks a horse. If your horse dies, you give the @rspcaoffficial.bsky.social £50.

Happy Birthday! I seem to remember you had an idea for a consultancy where the service was to tell business No, saving them fortunes on stupid projects. I think about this at least once a week.

It's Blackburn Rovers you are talking about. Nothing is this well anticipated or planned.

Do you have to be a prick to buy an #audi? Or does it just develop once you have the car?

A yellow square with the text "Are you colour blind? Join our accessibility testing network" in big bold letters. There is the TetraLogical logo and a megaphone icon made up of an orange circle on the left where the sound enters, a muted purple cone for the body with a U-shaped handle on the bottom, and a bright pink oval on the right where the sound is amplified as it exits.

These are quite poetic. Lovely what shapes a language can make when you don't worry about meaning.

We didn't have the same culture of comics in my part of England in the 70s and 80s. But I loved the Asterix and Tin Tin books. I got chided for it at primary school, so stopped. It's been a genuine joy to get into comics in my 40s and 50s. New ways to enjoy a story.

I’m looking for speakers for a London event on the science of Star Trek. I’d really appreciate suggestions from underrepresented minorities in STEM, especially PoC/global majority.
(10 min, central London, Sept, currently unpaid but I’m trying to fix that)
