I never finished DDS1 but I enjoyed my limited time with it. The soundtrack and presentation were incredible, but there was something a bit off about just how conventional DDS felt compared to something like SMT3.
Still an audiovisual marvel. The engine's graphics and EAX hardware sound are impeccable over twenty years later. That does not save it from being a boring slog that feels longer than a Persona game.

I always thought I was some sort of crazy person for preferring 96 over REmake (great as it still is). The body disposal + crimson heads just feels like overkill for a game where the mere act of spending ammo at all feels like enough of a punishment.
