People sometimes post my old art as examples of how much I suck... I didn't come out the womb an illustrator.

Good to see an old standard has traveled with me from my ancient school days, to my new uni days.
That being: Any assignment you work overtime to finish before the deadline *will* get a week added to the due date after you are done. :P
Every time I see something like this, or people pretending CHUD = chad+stud, I remember the 80s comedy film 'the night before' where cop gets called a pig, and a character says "That stands for Pride, Integrity and Guts!" :P
They were thin dowel and I used a bench disc sander to sharpen them in wedges to points. :)
Its a Grey with a hint of Green/Yellow in it. Its a common go to for me, and I bought a bunch before P3 disappeared the first time. Don't know if its in the current new range or if its the same.
A wall of modular palisades, a gate and a watch tower all in 28mm scale on MDF bases
Finished my palisades scratch built with craft wood, ice-cream sticks and matchsticks just in time for Sundays game. It never matches the quality of a high end plastic kit, but it does mean you get specifically the features you wanted. #Nerdlings #DungeonsAndDragons
Thanks! I enjoy the process also. :)
A recipe for old weathered wood (with a photo example)
Its pretty much this recipe, but I used cheap craft paints, so I just mixed close colour match analogs.
I've been a lot better of late.
But today was one of those days that free of actual reason, everything felt bleak.
Tomorrow is always a reset.
Well thank you! :)
Thanks! :)
Makes stack of pancakes with syrup and ice-cream... adds a banana - It's healthy now.
Thanks! I do like a bit of DIY.
Thank ye!

I like all the Necromunda stuff about gliding around in silks and going to scent bars... it made it feel different to me. 40k falls back on cliche a lot IMO. Weird is good.
Its always been a popular book to reference as being a bit silly.
I'm pretty sure I have brought up some of its more odd aspects from time to time.
But there is a special ugly when folks congregate and egg each other on that goes a bit to far for me.
I honestly don't know. Its not high art... but we paint plastic soldiers and pretend the worst offense is paint shaming, so damned if I know.
You are allowed to not like things, obviously. But there comes a point in threads on social media where it turns into a performative kicking. Each person trying to deliver the funniest/most pithy disparaging comment, or building on each others negative posts... and I'm so not there for it.
I read a bunch of folks ragging on the original Space Marine novel...
Yawn.
A ship moves towards a rundown dock area on the edge of the yellow-green sump sea.
This image was created for one of my uni subjects. It had to involve the use of photos you took and either directly manipulated or used as inspiration.
Me being me, I went #Necromunda inspired and played with the idea of a small section of a port on the sump sea.

Thank you muchly. Its appreciated. :)
Another section of the sump sea... somewhere with low roofs (or high fluid) like a vast car parking lot. Rusty platforms and crude refuse rafts.
Yeah it pops up in a few of the novels. I've played with parts of it before.
Honestly I think the biggest issue I have conceptually is scale. On an earlier attempt I made the roof too low. Need more practice :)
Same image as before of a ship pulling up to an isolated dock on the toxic sump sea, but now just line work sketch that was done before the render.
And for the extra extra interested. Just the line work.
I probably draw too many lines and should be looser... ahh well.
For the interested, its a bit of the campus and a touch of Brisbane city from the river, I drew over the photos for the basic geometry of those elements, sketched in all the other details and changed parts. Made up a boat and city, then value sketched and rendered it in my usual wacom & PS way.

I love art jargon.
I love talking to illustrators and discussing if you have moved from the tumbnails to the pencils. Oh you just finished the flats.
Based on an earlier photobashed concept, nice. Derivative or transformative? Do you do a value pass first?
Image of a brush turkey, black feathers and red head from NSW gov site.
Nice. We get brush/scrub turkeys around here, but none in our yard yet.
I love the different animals, different people in different locations encounter outside their homes. Here it's possums, big lizards and the occasional snake
They look neat!
