This is how you come up with a bitchin, and really memorable, title for your new article.

I always found it weird? that I keep in touch with a bunch of people I went to hs with, a couple from grad school, and even like *remember* one single person from college.
Somebody else gave me the heads up about a month ago. But nonetheless, thank you very much for mentioning!
Imagine you're here.
You do realize, putting on your bandaid diaper will unlock superpowers the world has never seen before...
I think a lot of us are tempted to say one person's name.
I won't be tempted.
(...fun of my job is access to a public records database where I can also look up ANY first name-last name combinations to see how many people like EVER have that name)
You know - I think it's starting to look like Anglophone manga scholars *are* beginning to take your work more and more seriously!
Latest example:

One of my absolutely f-ing core memories is my father - who is generally *not an emotional kind of guy* like COMPLETELY LOSING HIS SHIT (in the best way) - when we found out that my mom got in on the Diversity Lottery for my country.
When that was still a thing.
I mean, it's that same thing with Moscow - everybody in Russia considers it not a "real" Russian city.
And you'll find not too many of the Western stereotypes of Russia there, it's actually just a fairly generic European capital
Even though never been, I would think Singapore should go on the list even though it's *the* country.
Maybe also Dubai.
A new #openaccess study had participants rate "subjective realism, aesthetic value, subjective sexual attractiveness, and pleasantness" of different pornographic images.
"Younger participants rated hentai significantly higher in these measures than older participants".

I *thought* I was Done Buying Stuff this trip.
How was I supposed to know!!!.
What I came here for!
Snow Miku?
Snow Labubu!
The manga shelves in the Resting Room at the Dormy Inn Premium Otaru.
I LIKE!

Don't see anyone talk about this yet, but - biggest change this game has made is not in any combat mechanics.
You can now see *all* of the character bonding events in one play-through. Before, only way was to reload previous saves, or to replay the whole thing.
I rarely do gacha pulls.
But, very satisfied with this one!
Great new essay collection from U. of Hawai'i Press - online access via @degruyterbrill.bsky.social - on "the complex and evolving relationship between Japan and the nations of Southeast Asia".
4 chapters in the 'Endearment and Adaptation: Manga, Anime, and Cosplay' section

Had no idea this was a thing at the Snow Festival / did not expect to see.
I mean, not surprised at all, but, still.
Sapporo.
Continuing w/the Important Parts!
I've always wanted @animenewsnetwork.com to pay more attention to new English-language books on anime!
Made an effort to highlight some when I was writing for the site - fifteen and more years ago now.
And really happy when the site does notice a new book!

Also me.
(I know I am, but what are you?)
Workdcat shows major academic libraries with probably electronic access, so you should be able to place an inter-library loan through your public or academic library and get it pretty easily in a couple of weeks.

The Important Parts.
This is the point when you realize there's rarely a lot of reason to be attached to a last name. It's not like it's something that can be traced back five hundred years.
Here we go, here is The example.
Why do we watch?
Because anime gives audiences - what American TV, or books, or comics - never will!

It takes a LOT of courage to stand up and say I am using the original as inspiration and something *to* re-interpret, rather than recreate.
