an edited screenshot of the titlescreen to ducktales for the NES, with 'Ducktales' replaced by 'Spacetwinks Rec Thread', with my pink kangaroo fursona's head sandwiched inbetween. underneath, it reads: A shitload of weird video games on sale Fucked up we didn't get an RPG based on Ducktales 2017 The Kangaroo fursona Produced by still a kangaroo Picross to pinball, shooter to simulator, something for everybody
you already know what's up
(steam sale rec thread is what's up)
as always, i focus primarily on older, more obscure, and just plain weirder games, as big name titles don't need the help.
with that said, onwards!
It's the Spring Sale on Steam! Demonschool is 20% off!!! You should please buy it if you have not. It's no exaggeration to say the more people buy the game, the more we'll be able to do with it in the future. So tell your friends as well! store.steampowered.com/app/1900250/...

There's a reason Rez Infinite is one of the best games of all time, and it's only $7.49.
Incredible on a small flat screen, mindblowing on a big fancy screen, existentially uplifting in virtual reality.
Why not give Rez a trance.

The DLSS5 debate rages on @bumchampion.bsky.social
Lost so much respect for them over this. Seems completely antithetical to the way John has spoken about aesthetics and artistry in games for his entire tenure with the team.
I think it's weird for people who are nominally journalists to say things like "We should have waited to see what people think."
The issue isn't that you lost the coin flip of public opinion; the issue was that you gave into astonishment.
The problem is that the keyjingling got you at all!
The real issue is that DLSS (and all upscalers) had already inadvertently encouraged devs to stop bothering with optimisation. DLSS5 seems to encourage them to stop bothering with art direction too. Proper death of games stuff.
It'll run however it runs in docked mode
Aha! An idiot!
Except @digitalfoundry.bsky.social
I really hope you're pushing back on this one John - it seems completely antithetical to what DF have always strived to champion. Genuinely shocked to see Rich and Oliver gushing over it.
Sisyphus pushing that rock up the hill on repeat with text that reads "remember me on this device" over and over.
🪨
I can only assume DF are taking massive under the table payments here because the coverage is beyond pathetic. Expected so much more from this team.
I think it should default on with the ability to toggle off per game - the visual upgrade is too big not to preference for me at least. Text and pixel art actually looking crisp is massive.
This is MASSIVE. Genuinely never thought Nintendo would bother. This improves the visual clarity of EVERY SINGLE SWITCH 1 TITLE in handheld. Only downside (I assume) are that you'd lose handheld specific options like touch input with this toggle on.
Hi everyone. Things have been happening in the fan-translation scene and I've been overdue in talking about them. For the first time ever I've made a long writeup. Please read it and feel free to reach out to me with comments.
It's been in my basket for a few days. Currently selling swathes of my belongings for a house move - I've got a goal in mind, then everything after is FOR GAMES, BABY

I've spoken about Firewatch at length for @o3cgames.bsky.social - it remains one of my favourite narrative games of all time.
